Why are invitations so expensive?????? Everything I'm looking at is over $200 and then there's the cost of postage. I keep seeing post where others say they have saved so much money on Ann's Bridal, Zazzle, Vista Print, Minted and my favorite place ETSY. I guess i'm cheap because to spend over $200...

Why are invitations so expensive?????? Everything I'm looking at is over $200 and then there's the cost of postage. I keep seeing post where others say they have saved so much money on Ann's Bridal, Zazzle, Vista Print, Minted and my favorite place ETSY. I guess i'm cheap because to spend over $200 is insane to me for invitations. I need the invite, RSVP card, Card for hotel info and I planned on another card saying if you play these songs I promise to dance and let the guest name a few songs. Any ideas??? Suggestions????

I went through zazzle and they have 50% off discounts pretty often 🤷🏻‍♀️ Idk if you’ve tried there? Also I know they have an RSVP card that says at the bottom “I promise to dance if you play ______” so that’s kinda two in one to save you money? Try looking for invites on those special discount days!

I paid $190 for 90 invitations, details cards, and envelopes from Shutterfly, during a 50% off sale. We did an online RSVP so didn’t have to pay for that. Adding multiple cards will definitely increase your price a lot... is it possible to include the hotel info either on the details card or on your website, and to include the “I promise to dance” thing on your RSVP card?

Stick the song on the RSVP. That will save you money, and people are more likely to actually send it back.
I've been looking at zazzle for invitations. Somewhere around $60 for 100 invites. Considering doing the RSVP cards ourselves.
I also plan to just do our save the dates ourselves.
If you're just wanting a basic invite, consider paying an Etsy artist for a digital file and printing them at staples.

Make your a template or use one off Etsy. And print/cut them yourself at Office Depot or FedEx. Use a pretty Black/white template (to save $$ on printing.. color is more expensive) and you can add a pop of color with a cheap belly band or something.

Mine are really plain but simple and inexpensive (my sister made the pocket but they still would have been pretty without them). And put your song request on the RSVP card. I got 4 RSVP’s per page... 3 detail cards per page... and 2 invites.

I ended up buying mine on Etsy but could end up costing about the same as Zazzle depending on what you are looking for; and of course which seller you buy from too.

Have you considered using Appy couple? It only costs $49 and you can send save the dates, invitations, updates and your invitations through it. My guests love it and it made everything so much easier for me.

I bought mine at hobby lobby on clearance and printed them myself. They have templates on Hobby Lobby.com and once we figured out spacing and printer settings it was easy!

They cost 12 and some change for 2 boxes plus the ink. We used them for programs too, and got a shot of that with the envelopes. Also pictured- thank you cards that we found on amazon. They complemented the style well, I think!

We went this route because we didn’t have time to order other ones, we set the date less than 2 months ahead of time. I’m really happy with how they turned out!

Also I probably should have blocked out our names and address. Please message me if you’re coming over so I can cook a meal for you or something. 😜

I shopped one of Vistaprints sales and got 70 invitations, RSVP cards and envelopes for $110. I went with the stock matte paper and no foil to save a little.
The invitation has the website on the front to save on details cards.
Less is more and your budget will thank you.

Vista print had a great offer of 50% off of your purchase recently. But I'm guessing your number of invites is way up so that might not help much.

I designed my own save the dates and will have them printed at Office Depot. They will be magnets they will be super cheap to make. This was just a sample I printed at home to see what it would look like. I plan on doing the same with my invitation just can’t see spending a bunch of money on something people will throw in the trash. 🤷🏻‍♀️

$200 doesn’t seem like too much, especially depending on the number (and all those extra cards you mentioned). But, if so, only buy an invitation card and list the wedding website at the bottom. Then all that other info can be gathered there instead of on a bunch of cards. Then no additional postage is needed for return envelopes.

For my original wedding day STD's and invitations were brought on Zazzle whenever they had a sale/ black friday and cyber Monday. However for my new wedding date I am actually sending invites and requesting Rsvp's via email and phone. Because sadly in most cases you always have to do follow up call/emails anyway.

Ordering mine on Ann’s, they always have deals recently was 30 percent off. I mean you wanna order a lot so it will be more expensive to get everything . I’m putting song request on my rsvp cards and also Ann’s has free rsvp cards with the invites.
