Why are invitations so expensive?????? Everything I'm looking at is over $200 and then there's the cost of postage. I keep seeing post where others say they have saved so much money on Ann's Bridal, Zazzle, Vista Print, Minted and my favorite place ETSY. I guess i'm cheap because to spend over $200...

Why are invitations so expensive?????? Everything I'm looking at is over $200 and then there's the cost of postage. I keep seeing post where others say they have saved so much money on Ann's Bridal, Zazzle, Vista Print, Minted and my favorite place ETSY. I guess i'm cheap because to spend over $200 is insane to me for invitations. I need the invite, RSVP card, Card for hotel info and I planned on another card saying if you play these songs I promise to dance and let the guest name a few songs. Any ideas??? Suggestions????

We put our hotel information and the song part of it on the website. That way we didn't have to add into our invitations. If you're worried about older guest you could always at least out paper ones in those invitations and not in the rest. That could help cut cost

If you have some free time you can make some of them. I'm actually making my save the dates right now. I got some cardstock and created a design and got ideas from invitation websites on designs and wording. For save the dates I only have to buy envelopes and stamps and you can buy labels and create/type them up. That may save you some money, I also am making song request cards and registry cards people know where we registered. You could also try to create RSVP card. But the main invitation I will most likely purchases. Just some ideas. hope this helps

I am only doing online RSVP so that saved me money on postage for RSVP. Etsy templates are the way to go. I printed everything through vista print. They don't have a belly band template so printed that through Fedex and just had them cut them for me there as well.

My invites are all white so I added color by purchasing color envelopes online.

Girl! I’m doing mine on an Etsy template and I think for all of that the one I’m getting is like 10 or 15 dollars. You just fill in the info. I print them at my moms office because they don’t mind but you can have them printed and cut at kinkos or fed ex. Yeah honestly they aren’t as fancy but they are still super cute! Trust me when I say that because I am super picky when it comes to that kinda stuff 😂 I just couldn’t fathom spending a lot of money on them it doesn’t make sense. A YouTube I watch made a video about 11 things guests don’t care about and invitations were not here. Most people get rid of them or yes hang them up that’s why I like Etsy templates because still just as cute just not a crazy high price tag! Good luck.

You can do your own via microsoft word or whatever or find a free template (I chose mine from "GreetingsIsland.com") and customize it and just pay to print it somewhere on whatever paper and postage?

Regarding Invitations, I have one word: Groupon. I can't afford 200.00 invitations because it's not in my budget. I created my Wedding invitations for 35.00 by buying a Groupon that includes customizing your invitations and the envelopes.

You could diy for all of your invitation needs. I’m thinking about purchasing a download from Etsy and printing them myself which is way cheaper than ordering. Also, they sell blank invitations (some have decorated edges, florals in the corners etc ) at Michaels and the like, and you can print your info on them if you have a printer at home.

I ordered mine from Vistaprint! We spent $107 on 80 invites and 80 RSVP cards. They also have deals as well. We had a 25% discount with our order. Here's the link that list all of their deals!

The invites I had done at Costco were printed there on photo paper and I recieved them about 5 days after I ordered them. I found some cute note cards that I am going to print out details on like address and my website.

What about just inviting your guests through your Wedding Wire website? I'm planning to do that, but I cannot find the "Message Invite" option which is supposed to be an option. Has anyone else done this?

    Thanks!

I didn't know that was an option. But, I was going to send electronic invites but everyone had a fit because for my regular events I always send paper invites. But now that I need so many of them I don't want to do it.
