Invitation Extras

Amy, on November 2, 2020 at 9:57 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 6
I’ve always liked a “well dressed” invitation suite, but with a wedding website it’s nice to save on skipping direction, reception, details cards.

But, I’m looking to add a few things to make my invitations a little extra. I ordered vellum jackets last night, and thinking about adding a wax seal, or a few pieces of big round copper confetti inside, bakers twine around the outside... something....Invitation Extras 1Invitation Extras 2

A few pictures for inspo!
Any fun ideas to dress it up a little?

I love the idea of a wax seal with a ribbon or twine or something around the invitations!

Great ideas! We are doing a pocket jacket sealed with a wax stamp!

I know I jumped the gun really early, but I already have our invitations. Ours has a wax seal and vellum jacket as well. Some things you can add to dress it up more are envelope liners and calligraphy on the envelopes. A lot of people forget that the envelope is the first thing people will see and it'll also look really great on flat lay pictures if you are into photographing little details at your wedding.

You probably already know this, but sometimes brides post about not realizing..., so be sure you take into account the potential for added costs of postage and/or extra handling charges that might come with embellishments like twine and wax seals that add thickness and/or weight. Last week there was a post from a bride who never considered that her acrylic invitations would require additional handling and postage -- I think she ended up paying $2-3 per invite for postage....

That's a great point to note! Planning to keep my additions light, but worth checking at the post office and not getting too carried away.
