Invitation wording

Liz, on January 28, 2021 at 3:39 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
My husband and I got married in July 2020 and only had a small ceremony and reception with 25 people. This August we are planning to have a bigger one with more people but just the reception only. How might I word the invitation for the reception?

You could word it as, "Please join us for our wedding reception on [day/time]...", or "Please join us for a celebration of the marriage of [names]..."!

Invite everyone to "come and celebrate life, love, marriage, and family." I think everyone is feeling like they could use a happy celebration and a chance to see all of their loved ones again after being apart for so long. Your marriage celebration could be the day that friends and family get to see everyone they have missed so much.

'Celebration of Marriage' is the perfect term! 🌟

"Together with their families, X and X invite you to celebrate their union at a reception on..."

"X and X kindly invite you to a reception celebrating the marriage of their children X and X..."

Or if you want to use less formal language, you could go with something like this:

"Just Married! X and X invite you to join them for a celebration with the newlyweds..."

    or

"We're married! Please join X and X for cocktails, dinner, and dancing. And help us celebrate the happy occasion!"
