Invitations - Splurge or Save?

Clíodhna, on September 17, 2019 at 11:05 AM Posted in Planning 0 112

Who knew pretty paper could get so expensive?! Are you spending extra on upgrades like envelope liners, engraving, and custom calligraphy? Or saving your money on something that gets quickly tossed in the trash!

Are you splurging or saving on your wedding invitations? 💌

I think I'm going to splurge just a little to get the invites that match our wedding website (still pretty reasonably priced, just not the cheapest ones out there). Hoping to teach myself calligraphy for addressing the envelopes though!

Save. I feel like no one really looks at them and just RSVPs

Save. We went with all in one invites from Minted and we love them...and the price.

Save. We got the Send-and-Seal invites from Minted. A few of the RSVPs came back a little beat up but I'm happy with our decision. The invitations themselves were cheaper and they also saved on postage!

I’m splurging in the invitation style itself, the one I want is $20 for the editable digital download. But we’ll save money by only buying the download, putting the information in, and having them printed ourselves.

Save.... I spent a total of $40 for 150 Save the Dates and 150 for my invitations! I spent another $50 for the envelopes for the invites (save the dates were postcards!). I designed the Save the Dates from scratch, and found an invitation template for free (customized all the colors and fonts) and had them printed at my local print shop! I also created my own Wix website so it could match my invitations/save the dates!

Saving by not doing a whole suite and only having online rsvps but splurging by ordering gorgeous hand printed invitations from Etsy. And then paying her to address them!

SAVE. I am making our save the dates and invites. I have a cricut so I will use that for invites. Save the dates are pretty much designed just need some finishing touches and then print at staples and cut at home.

Save for sure. Although we didn't do invites, I did make them using canva which is a free app, so I would have just had to pay for printing and paper.

Save but I would’ve paid more if we couldn’t find something we loved in our budget. Our invitations are one of my favorite parts of the wedding.

Save. My graphic designer friend/bridesmaid did the design for free and I printed them through Vistaprint.

Save. I originally was going to splurge but then it hit me, almost everyone is going to toss them after the event. So why waste money on something people are for sure not going to keep. Costco for STDs was a huge savings and Ann's bridal is where I think we will be getting are all in one invites so cost savings there as well!

I haven't bought the invitations yet, but I plan on buying them through Vista Print of they have their 60% off Black Friday sale this year. I bought my saves the dates last Black Friday and saved a ton!

Save. I definitely want to spend more money on our food and venue than on something that's going to get tossed.

Save! My sister designed the whole suite for us and I used envelopes from Paper Source that I got on sale. For invitations that probably would have cost me over $1,000 I only had to pay for printing, envelopes and stamps. Saved about $600.
