Invitations

Shelly, on February 2, 2020 at 7:42 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 6
Our wedding is May 8, 2020. Is it too early if I send out invitations in about a week? I just finished addressing and stamping them all. I know the norm is 8-12 weeks so I didn’t know if it was too soon?

I would wait a little bit more, you just don't want you guest to forget about the RSVPS or anything like that. I would shoot for the end of Feb or even the beginning of March. Smiley smile

I would send about 3 months in advance (especially if you've sent a save the date). You'll get responses quicker if you've sent a save the date and you'll also have less people forgetting to RSVP if you send it closer to the wedding.

I already did for may 30th wedding 🤷‍♀️. I made my RSVP date march 30 because I know I'm going to have to hunt people down until may anyway

Usually 8-12 weeks is for a destination wedding. Local weddings should be send out 6-8 weeks prior. I'd wait until at least the last week of March.

Our wedding is May 9th, about 25% are out of town guests. We are sending invites out at the end of Feb with an April 1st deadline. We did send out STD, as well.
