Invitations

Maura, on June 19, 2019 at 9:39 PM Posted in New Jersey Planning 0 12
Hi fellow brides! So my fiancé and I haven’t been engaged for too long but are just trying to get an idea of how much is too much to pay for invitations? And if anyone in the NJ area has any places or websites they recommend we would really appreciate it! I just don’t want to spend an arm and a leg but I want them to be nice!

    Hi there Maura!

Many things would influence the price of invitations including how many pieces of card you will be including (will you be having an RSVP card or RSVP online, a details card, etc.), quality of paper chosen, the quantity you will be ordering, etc.

You could reach out to vendors with an idea of what you’re looking for and get some pricing before making your decision on how to move forward!

Here are some from the WeddingWire vendor directory -

    Northern New Jersey Wedding Invitations

    Southern New Jersey Wedding Invitations

Do you have an idea of what you would like your invitations to look like? Do you have an inspo pic?

You can do invitations super cheap and still make them look nice! We found a "pack" at Hobby Lobby for 9.99 for a pack of 25 with envelops and RSVP cards and we used the 40% coupon and just went back the next day to pick up another 2 packs! (4 total)

Then we added our own little touches and everyone has asked where we had them done! It was a little stressful because there were so many but it was fun to do together. I think total we spent $30 for 125. Pics below...

I ordered mine on Etsy, the digital download, it was $10 for the invite, accommodation card, and RSVP card. You can get them printed at a local printing shop. I'm using OfficeDepot/OfficeMax. It'll be around $100 to have them all cut and printed.

I think I read this post wrong and read your other one lol. But I used shutterfly for my STDs. Zazzle, Shutterfly, Mint, Etsy and Vista Print! Vista Print is actually super reasonably priced and has some good ones!

We used an online retailer for our invitations and RSVPs - nothing fancy or foil pressed - and they totaled $400. We still have to find thank you notes (probably getting them on Amazon because it's cheaper than other retailers). Also consider you may have to have table number signs, menus and escort cards. From my brief research those items will be about $400.

    Stationary gets expensive IMO.

    First, congratulations on your engagement!!

It really depends on how many people you are inviting. We are getting ours from minted.com, which is more expensive but they do all of the envelope addressing and I only need 35 invitations. I'd definitely shop around and check out vista print, shutterfly, minted.com, and get the cost of printing them yourself at a local shop as well.

We are also saving money/paper by adding a line on our invites for guests to RSVP at our website. Hope this helps!

I got mine from Cupcake graphics in NJ. They were about $15 per invitation suite with addressing included.

I spent a chunk of change on my Save the Date's when we first started planning. After time went on with all the money being spent I decided I did not want to pay too much for invitations. I made mine on Ann's Bridal Bargains, they were pretty plain just black and white, but I got about 100 invitations for around $100. They do free addressing too.
