Invitations

Donna, on May 20, 2019 at 7:45 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
So we have picked out our invitations and was trying to decide between 2 different designs for our Save the Date. I was talking with my daughter earlier today and she asked me a question that now has me second guessing the invitations.

On the back of our Save the Date (STD) is the venue name, the address, the date of our wedding, and the time. She asked me "why are you getting invitations if that's already there?".

My friend recently got married and that's the way her STD was and it was super convenient for us to keep up with. When we got her invitation, we put it in a drawer and haven't looked at it since.

So my question is...do we need both if that information is on the STD? What's the proper etiquette for this? Any suggeations?

I think you would still need invitations for RSVPs, right? You also might provide more details like hotel blocks, registry, etc

Most STDs I've seen only have the date, city/state, and website
You still need invites for the RSVPs and any other pertinent info like PP said.

I was honestly dealing with the same decision. I decided that I am only sending invitations. But I am sending invites out earlier that usual because of the fact that I didn’t do save the dates. My wedding is in October and I’m sending mine out beginning of June. (4months)

I have never seen a STD with all of that information on it. Most just have the date of the wedding and the city, state it will take place it. Ours also provided our wedding website. The invitation is for the more formal information as well as RSVP's,

Same here! Then our Invites had the confirmed venue and the website again (that is how we are doing the RSVP)
