Invite photographer and videographer to eat

Alli, on August 1, 2020 at 10:16 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 13
Hey guys,
So this completely skipped my mind. We hired a photographer and videographer for 8 hrs; I am assuming it is basically mandatory and just polite to extend the meal to them? Dreading it as it is $300/plate and we did not originally put them in our budget. Whoops.

Yes, you normally offer all vendors a meal. I would check if you caterer to see if they charge the same price. Ours charged us a discounted price for vendors which I think is pretty common.

Like pp said there’s actually often times a separate meal that you can get the vendors. For instance for me it was roughly $50 a person for my guests but for my vendors I was able to get them a $20 meal instead at the venue

Definitely need to feed your photographer and videographer (was it not in their contracts?). And definitely ask the caterer about vendor meals. Typically, they’re a lot less than guest pricing.

Yes, they should definitely be fed. It’s typically in their contract. Check with your venue or caterer to see if they offer vendor meals.

And mine offers a sandwich and a soda for about $10 for vendors. Vs $80.

Caterers provide vendor meals at a discount rate. Let them know how many you need. Your dj might appreciate it too.

Definitely check your contracts. Our DJ definitely requires a meal, per his contract, and I think our photographer does too, but we'll feed her either way. Vendor meals were also in our venue contract, so I know we only have to pay $35/each instead of the $100 or so we're paying for everyone else.

Vendor meals are typically cheaper, but yes, it’s super important to feed your vendors! Meals should also be included in the contract.
So far, we have to provide three vendor meals and there’s a potential fourth. Two are for the photographer and her assistant and one is for the DJ.

Most caterers and venues offer a vendor meal (typically half of the price for your guests). Your DJ/band, photographer, videographer, day-of-coordinator, and other vendors should get that meal.

You should definitely feed them, especially because they will be there all day. And $300/plate? What are you having served? That’s alottttt I’ve never heard of each plate being that expensive lol

Ugh, to be honest, I don’t know yet. We just chose this venue as my future MIL is dying from cancer, so doing a small wedding of 15-18. I emailed the venue asking if they have a cheaper option for vendors! Lol
    Thank you Smiley heart
