Hello ladies! We are thinking of Ireland for our HM. Initially I was looking at different companies that book your entire trip for you, but have read awful reviews about either the flights or the hotels that are booked as a part of those packages. So, I'm trying to book the trip myself. We plan to fly into Dublin and what I'm wondering is if we should stay in Dublin for the whole trip and make short day trips to the surrounding area (we plan to rent a car) or if we should only stay a couple nights in Dublin and travel to a city further away for a couple nights? If we do that, what cities should we stay in? Our total vacation will be 6 nights, 7 days. Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!

I studied abroad and I ended up spending MANY weekends at this hotel. Its small family run with an AMAZING staff, friendly locals, and great Irish culture. Please, Please do yourself a favor and stay at least one night here.

I have talked about this particular hotel so much my fiance and I are HM here as well.

I stayed in Dublin for 5 days a few years ago with a friend. We didn't rent a car and could access basically the whole cuty with public transit. One day we took a hop on/hop off tour to get the things outside city center. Just book a hotel or private hostel near the center with bars walking distance and you'll be set!

To add: I do wish we had seen a little more countryside because Ireland is gorgeous. Maybe rent a car for 2 days of your trip to drive around a bit? Good luck!!
