Is a 3 prong setting secure enough for a pear diamond?

Hello! Recently I saw a coworker with a pear diamond ring that only has 3 prongs which I thought was very interesting and different from what I have seen on the market. Does anyone have a 3 prong setting for a pear? Have you had any issues with the diamond not being secure in the 3 prong setting?

    This is my three prong set pear! Haven’t had any issues with it.

    No issue with mine either! They wouldn’t set it that way if it wasn’t stable.

    I tried to get my pear set in 3 prong but my jeweler advised against it. I see these other ladies have it tho. I guess because I wanted the claw style prongs and maybe they're not as sturdy? I ended up with 5 prongs. I guess if you have good insurance then go for it lol!
