Is a Cricut worth it?

Gabrielle, on December 4, 2018 at 12:45 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 8

I am thinking of buying a Cricut to use to make things for my wedding.

I LOVE doing crafts and am making 99.9% of the stuff for my wedding.... My dad can get pallets from work for free and my fiancé is pretty handy to make the signs themselves....

wondering if it would pay for itself opposed to buying all the decals off of Etsy or another website? I plan on making signs for food, directions, seating charts, decorations.

Yeah it’s definitely worth it. They’re such a good investment.

I invested in one shortly after we got engaged and I’ve done so much on it. Now I’m using it for Christmas gifts to get my money’s worth

I think it's worth it if you plan on doing so much yourself, and since you love to craft you'll probably use it in the future?

That's what I'm wondering, what it all does?

I can see from some posts on here that it makes sticky letters, but what else?

Before purchasing one, see if you can borrow someone else's. You can also check to see if your library has one (ours does) or the curriculum center/education library of a local college.

It's worth it if you're already relatively crafty and have the desire to do crafty things after the wedding (which it seems like you do!). This blog has an article that gives a really cute, quick overview of some of the things you can do with it. If you don't think you'll ever do that sort of thing after the wedding, it's totally not worth spending the money. I've thought about getting one myself, but still have yet to do it because I know that realistically I'll never sit down to do any of those things. Smiley smile

But I agree that maybe finding a friend, library or somewhere else local has one you can try out to see if it's your "thing" or not. Hope that helps!

Hey Gabrielle!! I've heard great things about Cricut machines! Have you decided if you're going to get one yourself?

Yes, I got mine last October and love it! I'm making all of our wedding invitations, and décor. I have the maker and lots of other art supplies so it's going to be a fun experience! If you need help don't hesitate to ask! Also if your on facebook they have Cricut pages you can follow. Search wedding in one or more of them and the ideas people come up with are endless. YouTube taught me the remainder!
