Hi all, my FH and I fell in love with this beautiful church that offers a gorgeous place for our reception for a very reasonable price. However they don’t allow alcohol. Which is fine for us. We are paying for our wedding ourselves so We will be able to save some money and be more flexible with catering options and more fun things. We are in our late 20’s so our guest list consist of people around the same age. We would have a shorter reception then head to either our hotel bar or local bar. We are thinking of having a caffeine station, dessert wall, even an ice cream truck at the end. I will be putting a heads up on our website and have already talked it over with our bridal party which they are fine with. I just know people like to have at least a glass of wine with their food, so I’m a bit worried that some people won’t rsvp because of that.

If people can't forgo one meal without drinking they're the ones with a problem; not you. I think it's perfectly fine to not have alcohol at any point but especially if a bar will be on the nights agenda anyway. Maybe buy a round or two for everyone there to sweeten the deal?
