Hey All,

My FH and I are seeking a florist right now and we're not really sure what to expect. We just met with a Florist last weekend and went over everything that we wanted - they were super helpful and had everything we wanted and then some. I'm growing concerned because I'm not sure 1) how much is average price for a wedding (I know it depends on what you get, but we're talking bouquets, boutonnieres, and centerpieces for the most part). We've been looking on DIY wedding pages and we're wondering if it's worth it to pay to have a florist, or were you guys able to DIY mostly everything for cheaper. We're awhile out and could definitely get things done in time.

Just wanted to know what you married couples did and if you would change/suggest anything different!

We were in the same situation. We’re in NC and we went to 5 different florist and asked for the exact things. They wanted to charge us $1800-$2000. We decided that way way out of budget for us, so we end up looking at Sam’s Club and we got the exact flowers, we wanted for about $900.

We are getting our flowers through sams club, they are so much cheeper and you can get thenm in bulk so its a much better value. Plus then you can DIY everything and give it a personal touch Smiley smile

Flowers can get expensive. I recommend you look into your local farms. A lot of time they can make arrangements for you at a reasonable price.

UPDATE: we met with a florist and got our pricing back. We have 6 bouquets (including mine), 11 boutonnieres, 2 flower girl head pieces, decorations for the ceremony, ~ 21 centerpieces. Set up/breakdown for 1900. I think this sounds reasonable and she was able to talk us through some things that we didn't think about. I'm thinking we might go with her but are looking into pricing right now.

Thank you everyone for your input and advice!!
