Is a hair and makeup trial necessary?

6-1-18, on April 23, 2018 at 8:18 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 26
I'd like a trial, but it's $75 that could go to our honeymoon. I do have thin hair though, so maybe it is necessary so if what I want doesn't work out I can choose something else?

Talk to your stylists to see how the trial works but I highly recommend it. You'll be less stressed heading into your wedding day knowing exactly how your hair and makeup will look.

I’d recommend it. I did one and it took a little while to figure out exactly what the hair plan was. Now on the wedding day they know exactly what to do so it shouldn’t take nearly as long. And then I’m not stuck with something I don’t like the day of.

I would still recommend you do a trial. It will help you be more prepared for the big day.

I would 100% recommended it - Everyone's hair, and skin are so different - what looks good on the sample picture may no look as good on you or you may simple decide that isn't really the look you want when you see it on you. That's not a realization you want to have on your wedding day when you won't have much time to change it or adjust. If you do the trial and decide you don't like something or want to go in another direction both you and the hair/MU artist have time to adjust or try something new.

I am not doing one because I have had the style I'm getting many times but in your case I think you should have a trial. That way you can talk about any tweaks that may be needed etc.

Yes, because the style you want may not be what really looks good on you, that happened to me!

I think trials are absolutely essential. Yes, it's more money, but it's worth it to not be unhappily surprised with a look you don't like on your wedding day.

I felt it was necessary. There were things that were not right for me and I was able to adjust. My trial lasted 90 mins. I do not have that much time the day of, so it was nice to get the little things out of the way.

My hair and make up trial is $150 and as much as I do not want to spend the money, I know I will be less stressed knowing what to expect that day.

Depends on if you're a stressed out person or not. If you don't get one are you going to worry about your hair and make up being perfect on the day of? Or are you trusting and don't really care how it looks day of? I had a trial and it's awesome knowing that my hair can do what I want and looks great (I'm the opposite, my hair is really thick, but that causes the same problem of maybe I can't have it look like the photos).

I completely agree. $75 would be worth the peace of mind for me personally.

What kind of hair style are you aiming for? If it's an updo or anything that isn't just a simple style I would do the trial. You don't want to get your hair done on your big day and have it end up taking much longer to get it right or just not turning out the way you want because the style you hoped for won't work with your hair. We are going to Vegas for our wedding so I'm going to start figuring out how to style my own hair since I can't get a trial so I don't know who I could trust out there to get what I want.

    ABSOLUTELY!

But, you need to plan two tests at one. while you go for your makeup trial appointment, make sure you bring down a camera and snap as many pictures as you possibly can, with and without flash. This will give you an idea of how your makeup will look on your pictures, which in reality will be the only physical memory you'll have of your makeup that day.

I think its necessary. I'm going to do it. You want to make sure that everything is perfect and you hare happy with your look on your wedding day. With the trail you get to see how it looks on you and you will have a time frame. If you don't like the way it looks you want to know before your wedding day.

I think it is necessary to have a trial also from the vendor’s standpoint. It’s unfair and puts too much pressure on the vendor if you haven’t given him or her the chance to make sure of the beauty plan.

I did a trial and it turned out amazing so I have a little bit of regret of spending that money but I’m glad that I didn’t it to nail down exactly what I wanted.

I would definitely do a trial. It will be good to know of an estimate of how long it will take the day of and you don't want to realize that you hate your hair style the day of your wedding.
