Is a mua worth it?

I am SO torn. I want to be pampered and relaxed on my wedding day, but I am also 110% capable of doing my own makeup. There is a girl in town who does a fantastic job doing makeup, and many brides go to her. I am just so torn. :/

That is what I am scared of! I want to look like myself!!

My friend is actually in a wedding next month where all the girls are getting their makeup done by the girl I am thinking about hiring, so I will get to see her work firsthand! I think after the wedding next month I will have my answer. Smiley smile

I have heard that! I definitely agree with that statement, because even in my engagement pictures I was a little washed out, even though I felt like I put enough makeup on to stand out in pictures.

Right! I don't want to put a bunch of stress and time into my makeup the morning of, only to have it washed out in pictures because I was afraid to go for it!

I have never had my makeup done by a professional that specializes in it. I did let a friend of a friend do my makeup at a makeup counter just to entertain her and let her play. Let me just say, I looked like a dang clown!

The girl I have in mind has an IG FULL of all of her clients and does a really nice job. My friend (also a bridesmaid in my wedding) is actually in a wedding next month where all the girls are getting their makeup done by the same girl I am thinking about hiring, so I will get to see her work firsthand! I think after the wedding next month I will have my answer. Smiley smile

I'll be doing my own. I dont think i'll even be able to set still for long enough for a professional to do it. I know I can do it quickly and have already worked it out with my mom and gma (good excuse to have them BOTH help me get ready).

That said, if you have the time and budget, it might be worth it.

You could make a vein diagram to count the pros & cons of going to her. 1st though, I would check to see if she's even available.

I had my family & friends tell me to just do my own makeup for my wedding since I always do my makeup so well, but I knew I'd be so nervous/excited the morning of that my hands would be too shaky to do my makeup well, so I hired a professional mua! Best decision ever. I was DEFINITELY jittery the morning of the wedding; no way my eyebrows, eyeliner, or lashes would have been straight lol

Wedding nerves/excitement is unlike anything else you'll ever experience. I say go with a professional who will be sure to have steady hands Smiley smile plus, it's wonderful being pampered on your wedding day!

I chose to hire one because a)I'm terrible at makeup and b) I want to be a little spoiled that day

I rarely wear make up. So I'm also capable. My mother, sister, BFF and future step daughter all also don't wear much. But I want to pamper them and let us all be worry free on the big day. - if they choose they don't want it then they dont have to Smiley smile

Honestly I was planning on doing my own but then I was so stressed about doing it for my engagement photos and hated how it turned out (even though I usually love how I my makeup). After that I decided to book a mua so I’m not stressed day of!
