Is a planner needed for the wedding day?

Oh-no, Sorry to hear things didn’t work with your planner! Do you have a maid of honor or someone close to you that could also help? What about your fiancé?

Look on Instagram, Yelp or Google in your area for a month of coordinator. They will tie up all your loose ends and make sure the day runs smoothly behind the scenes. Also, don’t ask your maid of honor or any other guests to perform that duty for a couple reasons: they don’t have coordination experience and they don’t understand your vision so it will backfire even though you have good intentions. Also any guest who is working as a vendor will not be able to enjoy themselves as a guest.

I suggest to hire a Day-of Wedding Coordinator. I found mine via Thumbtack. You’ll want someone to handle all the coordination efforts with your vendors and other tasks. On your wedding day, you’ll want to relax and enjoy every moment rather than dealing with your vendors and any questions that may arise. A Day-of Wedding Coordinator can help run matters smoothly. As mentioned by the previous poster, don’t let your wedding party or guests handle the coordination efforts.

I think having a planner is really a preference. I'm not using a planner and don't plan to have a day of coordinator either. I am very hands on so I plan to handle all the bookings and then my sisters will be the day of person that will keep things moving.

You can do all the bookings. The Day-of Coordinator ensures your wedding day runs smoothly. That person will manage your wedding day timeline, oversee your vendors, and any other last minute tasks that may arise. The coordinator is very different from a planner. For what I paid for, I got a great deal. She only charged me $700 which is very, very reasonable. I got married last February and my wedding day ran very smoothly.

I had a planner who did excellent work. However, I cannot underscore the importance of having a day of coordinator as things have the potential to go wrong and as a bride your only tasks is to be a bride and not a planner. Execution of the day is everything. Perhaps search out planners on IG, and thumbtack as another poster suggested. If not a close family friend who can run point on that day?

Well no not really I dont have one I have been planning it but i have had a little help. But most of the decisions were my own I asked my groom about certain choices for us to pick out together. So now I'm in the stretch of things now choosing a baker researching different caterers then the one I had I let that 1 go. And some other things so if you want a day of coordinator for the day is cool too
