Is a thousand dollars enough for these flowers

AG13, on February 2, 2015 at 3:31 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 19

A realistic budget for flowers. I will attach some photos. The first is the kind of bouquet I want. The second is the kind I want my bridesmaids to have (7 of them) The next I have about 30 of those jars that I want to fill with pink flowers and babys breath. Pictures will continue in comments...

I also want about 6-8 large babys breath arrangements like this and then me and mom have a ton of clear small vases that will just have random pink flowers in them like this

I'm getting my flowers for just less than $1,000 but my mom's friend is a florist so she helped me out a lot with the pricing. Every vendor is different though and I've seen flower pricing all over the board. It may not be super unrealistic.

Without the arch I'd say definitely, but the arch I want (similar) was priced at $600. I think @Centerpiece would be the best to answer this. Although I haven't seen her around lately. Maybe update your title to include her specifically.

I personally think that is a great deal! I received a quote that was $4,200.00 and then finalized with another florist at $2,100.00. I have 2 MOH and 2 flower girls. We also have 18 tables that will need flowers. I think it also depends on the area.

Love your inspiration pictures Smiley smile

Depends where you're located. My first inclination is no...

You may want to look into online wholesalers and DIY at least some of it. Probably unneeded stress the week of the wedding, but it might be your only option if you want to stay under budget.

Maybe $1500-$2000 would get you closer to what you want?

(Of course, I'm not even using a florist-- just dried flowers from Etsy, but it works because my wedding is in the fall.)

It depends on where you are located. I got everything I wanted for about $1600.

Very pretty! Trufully I don't think $1000 is enough for a professional florist to provide you with all of that. You have roses, peonies, ranunculus and other pricey flowers in there and 30 of those small arrangements is a lot. Your bouquet alone could be $150-$200 from a florist. Plus the 8 aisle arrangements and arch decor. The arch decor could be at least $500. No, I don't think $1000 is enough at all. It may actually be more like $2000+

But you should seek several quotes and find out pricing in your area.

I think $1000 is low, but it depends on where you are and if those flowers are in season during your wedding.

My friend had something similar for her wedding, but I'm not sure what the price was for her flowers. More than $1000 though.

I am not really picky about what type of flowers that are used just as long as they go with my colors.... I have considered DIYing everything except the big centerpieces, arch, and my bouquet because you can get flowers cheap from sams online.

Unless you are DIY'ing your flowers, I doubt that you will get all that for $1000. Sorry to be the one to say so. Bridal bouquets are usually between $150-$400 depending on the flowers- and you have peonies and garden roses- neither of which are inexpensive. Boutonnieres are about $10-20/ea, True, babies breath is cheap but not THAT cheap and add in the florist talent cost, plus 14 roses and the bridesmaid will probably all be $$50-75/ea. Of course, I'm coming from my region and flowers are very different prices in different areas, so maybe you are one of those lucky people where flowers are cheap!

I think the poster who said "It matters where you are" is right. I cannot even imagine getting that much floral done for anything less than $3k, and I think that's cutting it close. You have SEVEN bridesmaids, so figure minimum $500 for bouquets for those (though most quotes I got were $150) and then a bridal bouquet which is usually several hundred dollars. Your budget is spent before you even get into centerpieces and arches, where I come from.

I got many different quotes for the same flowers and arrangements and the prices were all over the place. The cheapest quote I got was for $1500 and that was for my bouquet and 4 bridesmaid bouquets, 7 simple boutonnieres, 2 medium size flower displays for the ceremony and 12 table arrangements. I was able to negotiate with the florist I went with to rent all the vases and paying cash so I could get a discount.

I would agree with others that its probably going to really depend on your area but I doubt you can get that much floral done for $1000 without sacrificing the quality of the work. Since you are getting married in April you should look for flowers that naturally bloom in that season as those should be cheaper. Get quotes everywhere though and ask to see their work in person. You have plenty of time so it may be worth it so you can get what you want.

I found looking at the online flower prices at fiftyflowers gave me a good idea of what things cost. Believe it or not carnations are almost the same price as roses.
