Thank you everyone. I did not expect so many answers. I live in north California. I would like a California beach wedding. 100 people maximum. Most important to me is the party, and beach location. Any recommendations of places?

U can find lots of stuff for weddings in downtown LA if u can make a trip out there! I'm from Cali but I moved to AZ and I made a trip down to LA to find my centerpieces for 30 tables and I got everything I needed so much cheaper out there because you are buying wholesale. My budget is 10,000 and for about 150-200 ppl! Mexican wedding! lol but I think I'll end up staying under my budget.

It's definitely possible!! Just shop around for different prices, do some DIY projects - decide on the things you that ABSOLUTELY have to have, & then the other things that are ehh, so so that you can skimp on in price a little bit Smiley smile Congrats & good luck!

    Absolutely!

If your adventurous you may want to look at destination weddings to tropical locations i.e. mexico, punta cana. Most resorts are all inclusive and they offer free wedding packages and then you can add to the base free package.

I've found when researching resorts for our DW is that most of the free packages include:

    Officiant

    Flowers for ceremony including bouquet

    Music at ceremony

    Champagne toast

    Dinner

    Cake

    (some have photo package)

I found the packages to run from $1,200 to $3,500

    Good luck!

If you have connections or know of someone who can get you your reception venue for free...like a friend with a house on the beach, or something like that...a beach wedding for under $8000 is totally doable! My best friend got married last Saturday and all for under $5000...I essentially planned her entire wedding, so PM me if you need any advice on how to cut costs...especially in the flower department Smiley smile Also, CONGRATS!

We are having about 120 guests and as of right now, my price is just over $4000.

Search around at venues for prices

We are having a mid-week wedding, so we're saving about 50 percent on our venue.

Also, if you're crafty enough. DIY a bunch of stuff.

The ladies here can tell you that I have DIY'ed a lot of my stuff, and by doing so I have saved a good chunk of money.

I also have friends and family who are pitching in with things. Like a couple friends of mine are going to be my photographers

    FH's boss is our officiant

My ex boss (like a 2nd dad to me) is making my cake, and maybe bringing some side dishes (he's a chef and now teaches at the culinary school I went to Smiley tongue )

My best friend from culinary school is making my cupcakes

I'm really hoping a friend of mine is going to be our bartender (to use him we have to put a rider on our insurance... if it's less than $100, which is what our venue charges for their bartender, then he's going to do it for us)

My wedding is under 5k... including my dressSmiley smile but I am only having 40 guests... so that makes a huge difference!

Very possible. I'm the mother of 3 girls and I'm so happy to hear about weddings in that budget. We did an outdoor wedding with 115 people for $6000, and planning daughter #2's wedding 150 guests for $8000 (outside vs. Venue). Just be creative and think large party, not "wedding." Daughter #2 found bouquets on Hobby Lobby clearance for <$10. Found centerpieces, decor, and signs at garage sales and thrift stores. Don't call "caterer," many restaurants offer delivery and/or catering for much less. We're getting full service buffet (they deliver, set up, serve, box up leftovers), including tea and tax for $18/pp.
