Is anybody going places right now

Jennifer, on October 26, 2020 at 4:44 AM Posted in Honeymoon 1 13
Ok so I know Covid has put a damper on a lot of all of our plans, and although I’m not getting married until 2022. Is anybody honeymooning or is everybody waiting to things die down a little? I mean we have already decided on a place but should we start paying on it yet?

Since your wedding isn’t until June 2022, you can just set the money aside for the next year+ and pay once the date is closer. You have lots of time.

I agree with the PP. I personally wouldn’t pay for anything right now but start saving for it and put it aside

I agree with PP, just start setting money aside for your honeymoon until the time is closer. We have rescheduled our wedding from November 2020 until November 2021, but we’re not even attempting to reschedule our honeymoon at this point since there’s no way to determine what travel restrictions will be like in the years to come. Much safer to just wait & save.

I wouldn’t. We originally wanted to do Alaska for a honeymoon but we haven’t even looked into booking anything for that and if anything, we will just go somewhere within driving distance and do a bigger vacation later. That’s too far out to know, I’d wait to see what happens next year first.

Our wedding is 4/3/21 & we plan on leaving for our honeymoon on 4/5. We’re going to Jamaica to a sandals resort. Our final payment is mid February. We’ve already purchased our airfare. Let me just bury my head in the sand & not get nervous about rescheduling that for just a bit longer....

As your wedding isn't until 2022 and following previous posts, I'd definitely wait until your at least a year out before booking anything (1. Booking too far in advance you could be paying at least a 1/3 more than booking closer to the date. 2. Flights can't even be booked more than 360 days, best times / flight prices come at 3 months prior.)

We just had our wedding and we drove to FL for our wedding and Familymoon, but we actually resumed air travel back in June and as long as your follow airlines / states / government safety precautions - it's almost more clean / safe to fly now than it was previously. It's a personal choice to travel during these times, so I fault no one that does not.

Personally i have tentative vacation plans for april 2021 because anything earlier than that just makes me kind of weary.

however i was in a wedding last month and i flew there. and that bride and groom went on a honeymoon that same month - so people are travelling, you just need to be made aware of any restrictions

I definitely wouldn't book anything yet. It's too far in advance, and I'd at least wait until you have your flights paid for, since that will dictate the timing of your honeymoon.

We have been traveling for work and for pleasure. FH and I went to Cancun in early August and we have friends who have also been traveling to the Caribbean and the parts of Europe that are open. FH is booking our honeymoon as a surprise but he told me he booked the airfare (first class yay!) and is booking the resort next week. We are getting married in December but taking our honeymoon in mid-January.

I guess because we both fly for a living we have no issues with traveling, it just depends on your comfort level with traveling. We have been safe and healthy flying pretty much every day during the entire pandemic so we aren't overly worried. Good luck with your planning!

Thank you for letting me know. Now both of us have been flying to nearby states since June with no problems, nowhere longer than 2hrs tho. Matter of fact we just came BK about 2wks ago from STL, but I hadn't heard of anyone traveling further out like to the different places u stated. We are planning to HM in Cabo but I wasn't too sure about those type of trips. And with our wedding being in '22 I was kinda wanting to pay it off by next year hopefully but I was kinda timid with everything going on. So ur insight was very helpful!! Thank you
