Is anyone else the only one in your social circle getting married?

That was me!!! My closest circle of friends either got married a long time ago or aren't getting married at all. Same with my immediate family. It was kind of nice and I think made everyone a little more excited for our wedding.

I was also the only one in my (and H's) immediate circle to be planning a wedding when I was. It was actually kind of nice - I think it led to fewer opinions lol.

Yeah that's me haha. i was the first of my friends to be engaged. now a bunch of them are engaged but ive been married for a while now so i was definitely early

No, but everyone is having babies now. 3 just in the last 4 months. If anything, I'm behind

Yes and no LOL We did have 3 other couples getting married around the same time as us; but then the pandemic hit and changed everything. One couple still had their wedding as planned last year, 1 had theirs this past summer, and the other just had theirs last month. We decided to wait until next Fall, so now we’re the only ones we know getting married next year.

Definitely, all my family and friends have either been married for a long time or its nowhere on the horizon! I like it because it definitely takes the stress off having people’s opinions. No one really asks me much about the wedding and because no one else is planning I don’t really have conversations about weddings. Honestly, I’m so glad because wedding planning is not my idea of fun and if I had to deal with annoying opinions on top of it all, I think I’d just give it up!

All of my FHs friends are party-bachelors, and are always ragging on him for not going out to bars with them 3 nights a week! We both agree we need to meet some couple friends haha
