Is anyone else’s wedding in 2020?

Is there anyone else who is having their wedding in 2020? We’ve decided to wait until May 2020 in order to save money for the wedding. Did anyone have a long engagement? How did you go about planning your wedding?

    March 7th, 2020!

We booked our venue, made our guest list, ordered samples of save-the-dates and decided on our caterer. I'm an event management student, so I know the importance of planning well in advance!

Hello! We got engaged in January 2017 and aren’t getting married until September 2020. Our venue is booked, I just started looking at photographers and DJs. I have my color scheme picked out and a Pinterest board so really know what I want, just waiting to put it all together Smiley smile

We’ve been engaged since 2015 and have had our second child since lol we had set a date for 2016 but it wasn’t working out financially then we got pregnant so we put it off. We decided to finally set a date and work towards that goal with zero wedding debt! 3/14/2020. We already had to change the date from February bc after this crazy hard freeze we just had in Houston I’m scared of it happening again and our ceremony is on a golf course!

Perks of long engagements is if it is outdoors you can see weather patterns and plan accordingly. Plus I like knowing that if I want something that’s might be out of budget I have time to either save for it or look for other options. Possibilities are endless.

We already started buying little things slowly as they go on sale (terrariums for example bc they can be $$&dollarSmiley winking The way I feel is that when most brides are going crazy those last six months we’ll be relaxed and smooth sailing! (At least we hope right?? Lol)

Feb 21, 2020! Meh. Friday wedding. So not a fan but the price was right! I’m with you! We’re trying to give ourselves a comfortable amount of time to pay for everything considering we’re paying for everything ourselves! So far we’ve only booked a venue but I’ve already received itemized quotes from priority vendors (catering, DJ, photography, event designer) and we plan to have our catering locked in by the summer. Personally, even though we have so much time I prefer to have everything pretty much taken care of well in advance to our date because I’m such a Type A personality— details and planning are so important to me. At the end of the day, I imagine getting married as an exciting, stress free and fun experience and since we’re not able to budget in a coordinator or planner, a long engagement was ideal for us to ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible!

We're planning for May 2020 as well!! We just found out the date we picked falls on Mother's day that year (oh goodie!!!!!). Though we're trying to stay open to possibly needing to change it, we'd love to keep it. Currently looking for venues that will accommodate our potential outdoor holiday wedding. In the mean time we are saving, saving, saving and slowly outlining the major parts. Remember you have time so don't get consumed in planning, it'll suck the fun out of it.

Oh Wow! That's the same weekend we want. Except we want to get married on that Friday. Any specific reason you chose May? We met in May and 8 is my absolute favorite number so that's the date we're shooting for.

We got engaged Nov 4th 2015, and won't be getting married till maybe summer 2020. Total we've been together since 2011 at 6.5 years together. So it is a long engagement. We will start planning officially next year in 2019. Need to get some things straightened out first but that wont be till November of this year. And need to start saving some money.
Probably will do a Friday wedding to save a lot of money.

We got engaged 11/28/17 and are planning an August 2020 wedding. We have been viewing venues to try and get that locked down and we can really budget and save up money. Our families are bummed we are waiting that long but we want to make sure we can have the wedding we really want. I am also in a friends wedding this October so I want to be able to give her wedding the attn it deserves before I totally focus on mine.

My fiancé and I got engaged on March 18, 2015. Decided to marry on June 19, 2020. We have already put a down payment on a venue that we picked and agreed on together. I now have plenty of time to gather timelines, pick out gifts for bridal party attendees, and groomsmen gifts. All the gifts for all the people, family, and friends who will bless us with being there with us on our day. We are both in wheelchairs and have to do everything for the wedding on our own. That is fine by both of us. Feel free to check out my Pinterest page, my Twitter page, and my LinkedIn page. I also have a Facebook page, feel free to check into at least my Pinterest page, it’s full of my top wedding picks. Best of luck with the planning of your nuptials.
    Sincerely yours,
    Carol Dykes

Yes! We got engaged January 5th of this year and are not getting married until March 21, 2020 (partly because we just bought a house and partly because that'll be our 6 year anniversary). We're hoping to get our venues booked this year so that we at least have a location. I'm also asking my BP this September-December (since I 100% know who I want). I also might look for a dress in December because some of the bridal shops do a week long sale in December where they have select dresses for $99 each.

Once next March comes around, I'll be kind of hunkering down and putting together what we want for decorations, getting dresses for my girls, and booking everything else!

We also took the time to do season engagement photos. I have a college friend who does amazing photography and is looking to make her mark as a professional so she's charging me $40 per session and we're doing four sessions, 1 hour each, during each of the seasons (spring, summer, fall, winter) so I think it'll be a nice touch!

2020!!! I originally wanted 10/10/2020 but being that I live in Buffalo the weather is too unpredictable in October. We decided on 6/6/2020. Starting our venue search over the summer after I graduate from college!

Well we have alot of family and there's always something happening each month, so we wanted to A) have a date that we didn't really have to share with others as far as planning events & vacations (somehow we are still are ending up close to a future baby cousin's birthday whom will be here May 18, 2018)
    B) We live in California, the land of crazy weather, so May would be the perfect amount of warmth for most.
