Is anyone having Acrylic Signage?

Deanna, on November 9, 2017 at 6:57 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

Where did you guys get your signage? Is it just a block of glass?? I want to make my own bar signs, seating chart, etc.

I made my own acrylic table signs. I used a local plastics fabrication shop to have the acrylic custom cut to whatever sizes I need. If you search in google maps for "plastics fabrication" you should be able to find something. I think they also cut acrylic at home depot but I'm not sure of the pricing there. If nothing nearby, there are online options too. The store I used was TAP Plastics and they have an online store also but I would shop around for cheaper options online.

ETA: don't use windex or any ammonia based product to wipe your acrylic. you'll ruin it.

You can order acrylic sheets online, e.g. from TAP Plastics or similar - most places will have the option to cut to the size you want. If you are lucky, you can find a plastics supplier warehouse near you.

Chalkboard markers would be the way to go with the actual writing/design - easily procured on Amazon. They are good to use on chalkboard surfaces, as well as glass and acrylic (similar to dry-erase markers, I suppose?).

The wooden sign holder could be a wood-block with a groove sawed into it, but I'm sure something similar could also be found online.

I went into an actual TAP store rather than online but I just got the clear cast acrylic. Thickness is up to you. I purposely went with a 1/4" thick which is pretty darn thick. If you want something that will be easier to slip into a woodblock, definitely go thinner. I'm going to guess the picture you posted is only 1/8" thick acrylic.

I ordered an acrylic hashtag sign from Etsy- TheRippleMarket. She has bar signs and others, and will customize. I thought her prices were reasonable.

You can get acrylic from Home Depot and Lowe’s. They will even cut it down for you! I’m making my table number signs out of acrylic. I would post a picture, but it’s not working for me.
