Is anyone not keeping stuff afterwards?

Michele, on November 16, 2020 at 12:59 PM Posted in Married Life 0 7
I'm more than happy with splurging on photos to capture memories and details such as cake, flowers, decor, etc. So I don't feel the need to dry and display the bouquet. Or keep the linens and chargers and other decor. We also are opting to rent as much as possible because we don't have that much space to entertain at home or the time/sanity to watch Craigslist to sell stuff. Anyone else not keeping every single memento?

Same here! I will have pictures and video of everything, so I don’t feel the need to keep all the items. Plus, I’m just really not that sentimental of a person when it comes to physical items. I am going to let my guests take anything they want decor-wise, and the rest I will either donate or throw in the trash. I don’t think I will even keep my wedding dress or veil.

Me!! Not keeping everything lol. We aren't printing off programs for everyone because guests will read it once or twice then throw it away. We are printing of a few programs ourselves to give to our mothers and any family members that we know are sentimental.

I would say 95% of our decor is going to be provided by the venue. My vision is a minimalistic wedding, so we don't need that much of decor anyways. Plus, our venue is so beautiful that it speaks for itself! The venue also provides the tableware and linens so that along with the decor saves us a lot of money and space because we won't have to cram it all into our apartment afterwards haha!

We aren't doing a garter toss so I won't have to buy that, and I'm not wearing a veil so I won't need to buy that or keep it. I will keep my wedding dress because that's something I know I'll regret selling or getting rid of.

I’ve kept out guest book (obviously), dress and shoes. The shoes were specifically chosen because I can wear them again (burgundy suede) and the dress I might end up selling.

Sold/donated all decor. Venue provided linens, silverware, and cake base. We did not do garter toss or guest book. Kept dress, veil, jewelry, shoes, and his boutonnière. We have a spare bedroom that cannot keep accumulating stuff lol

Same! We are even renting our flowers! I did purchase a few wooden signs that we will use, but only 1 of the 4 are specific to our wedding and we will hang that one in our home. The others I will either sell or give to my friend who will be getting married soon. Other than that we are renting most everything else.

I'm a sentimental person but I didn't keep my bouquet to dry it. We had pumpkins for centerpieces like the glam ones from Home Goods but haven't talked about what we will be doing with them yet. The other stuff like dress, veil, shoes, jewelry etc. I am definitely keeping.
