May I ask why you want to stop it?

My plan is to time my Birth control so I don't get my period, but if I do, not the end of the world.

ETA: there is no medical reason why your body needs to have a period, if that is what you're worried about. Usually with continuous birth control, you get more breakthrough bleeding, but a lot of that is at the beginning so hopefully you're past that point. Could you clarify what kind? There's no birth control that's a drink...

I wish I could take BC, but since I don't, I'm just going to deal with it like I do every month. Iv fluids (per dr orders), and aleve. Also shower sex is a go. Smiley smile

Haha would love some IV fluids for my time of month

They do have these concierge services where they come place IVs for you. But usually for hangovers.

@Jaci, Yup, iv fluids. Bizarre why?

@Kat, it's apparently a huge thing down in south Florida to get them for hangovers. I briefly dated a guy who's roommate was a paramedic and that's how they handled their hangovers. Once I found that out, I pretty much decided we should go our separate ways. If one got drunk that often to need iv fluids to recuperate, I wasn't interested.

    Holy run on sentence.

I plan to do what I regularly do. I'd like to try the cup soon, I feel like that would be a good option.

If you're worried about your period because of severe pain etc, I would consult your doctor.

@HisBeauty, I have never heard of that before for periods or hangovers. That would have definitely come in handy a few times!

I've had the nexplanon for a few months and no period since. Love it.

I've known people who've used the menstrual cups and love them too. I think they're only a little messy to take out but you can wear them for 12 hours without having to change them. It does take some practice to get used to them (but I never did).

It's not exactly fun being hooked to an iv. I don't feel that iv fluids should be a hangover cure, but maybe that's just me. A friend and I had a debate about that a few months ago. If one is drinking to the point they need iv fluids to recover, that's ridiculous.

I tried to go on BC but doctors refused, so I'll just cope with my period.

I'll just deal with it if need be. I have actually been thinking of using a cup myself so I don't use all those tampons. As far as birth control, I'm marrying a woman...

On birth control and used a period calendar to make sure we didn't pick a date while I'm on my period. Unfortunately I'll be on it for some of our honeymoon. I am a user of a menstrual cup ( diva cup) and i love it! And that's the method I'd go with for the wedding day or any day actually! Sorry TMI but my flow is moderate and I usually just change once after showering and I'm good to go for the rest of the day. Other girls i know may have to change twice but it's way better than pads or tampons!

@Sarah not all woman take birth control *only* for for preventing pregnancy, it doesn’t matter who they are marrying. It’s also used for regulation and lessening period side effects. I’ve been on it since my first period and I didn’t need it for contraception either at that time. @OP, yes I was worried. I was also taking the pill continuously but I was experiencing a lot of breakthrough bleeding (and even more when I’m stressed) and I was very nervous due to having a completely awful time of the month. My cramps are usually debilitating and two or three times per year, it’s accompanied by an awful migraine where I have to stay inside in a dark room with an ice pack glued to my head. When we booked our date, I wasn’t supposed to be on it but I was also stressed from the wedding and moving so I knew I might not be very regular. In my suitcase, I made sure to load up on excedrin, aleve, and those cup things. In my wedding purse, I had a few tampons and a few of those painkillers. Thankfully, it didn’t surprise me. I’d say just be prepared with whatever you usually do for your time of the month. Also I am by no means a doctor but I would probably talk to yours about regulation and getting off your birth control just to get back on it for your wedding.

I had my period on my wedding day. I wore a pad and had no issues at all.

ETA: sorry for the TMI but we still consummated our marriage on the wedding night. Period sex isn't as bad as people make it seem.

My pills put me on a 28 day cycle. In the past, I've skipped my 7 inactive pills if I was going on vacation bc I hate being at the beach on my period. I'm planning to stop taking the pill a couple months before the wedding so i guess I'll deal w my period if it comes.
