No cleavage isn't a bad thing! As you said the dress you tried on is too small and your size will fit you better, if you are concerned about it I would wait to see what the dress in your size looks like on you!

I had a bit of cleavage in my dress and no one looked twice, except my wife which was what I was going for anyway. If a dress makes you feel beautiful and confident then rock it! I think this dress is STUNNING and works well on you, so go for it! I think if you're concerned about showing too much in church you could always wear a wrap but I think this is totally classy and not too much cleavage at all.
