Is funfetti for a wedding cake too "birthday party"?

I know it's our wedding and we can do whatever we like; but if you were a guest and you receive your slice of cake would you be confused or offended that a beautiful wedding cake is funfetti? I'm still 10 months out and haven't decided on our cake vendor (we will shortly). Are unconventional flavors...

It can be for a wedding, especially if it's your favorite

My FW and I just went to a cake tasting last night and are now leaning towards a Funfetti cake. We aren't going the typical sweet frosting route though. I've always dreamed of a cannoli cake for my wedding cake so we are meeting half way. It will most likely end up being Funfetti cake with lobster tail filling (it's cannoli cream mixed with whipped cream to lighten it up) and a whipped cream frosting. We will have a tasting in a couple of months to see if it works out.

I think they are. Im getting the top of our cake as carrot cake as a surprise for FH because that's his favorite and I don't have a favorite... I just like cake lol.
I personally like funfetti cake and think it would be really cool if I was a guest.

Whatever you do that involves NO FONDANT, will be wonderful. Looks like plastic, tastes godarful and needs to be peeled off. Yuk. Funfetti, like marshmallow, sweetens the cake batter, so it is nice if their is a choice of flavor layers, some funfetti, some not. But nothing wrong with it.

I agree. I'm not a fan of fondant whatsoever for that very reason.

I think I would rather have a fun cake than a typical boring one. Go nuts! (Just don't add nuts as some people may have allergies. haha) Switch up the flavors, add some sparkle, and make it a representation of you two as a couple. The guests will not be critical of this... it'll likely make them smile. And some guests may be well into their drinks at that point and won't even notice. You do you.

We definitely plan on having at least one or two other flavors as well as funfetti! Thank you. I always imagined if I were a guest and received a funfetti slice of cake it would be so cute and fun.

I think that would be so yummy!! If you're worried about it looking "birthday party"ish just make sure that the outside of the cake looks traditional or wedding-ish
