Is It Just Me!?!?!

Ok, so I finally have a florist and we are about 8 months out.

But here is my issue guys --

Why do I feel like I am chasing people to give them my money. Its soooo annoying. For example, my initial markup artist we spoke via text on 6/22 and I asked for a invoice to make a deposit and confirm the date. As of today still nothing. I have called my travel agent a few times to make a payment and I get it was a holiday weekend but G's I don't feel i should have to press upon people to give MY MONEY!

So I looked up another makeup artist on Saturday and she advised she would send me information (still don't have it)

Is this happening to anyone else!?

    All day everyday.... I will say it gets better the closer you get to your wedding date.

    OMG Allie its insane! Like so frustrating asking people for information and trying to confirm them - like I start to think is this how they will be the day of late and unresponsive.

    I'm also worried about this, but it does seem to have gotten better now that my date is so close. They really start talking and being helpful around when that final deposit is due lol. I'm making sure all the final details are confirmed before I give that final payment.

    This has been happening to me too, especially with my reception venue. It drives me crazy! I am trying to give you money, it should not be this hard! You would think they'd be happy to take it Smiley xd

    Some of my vendors don't want a deposit. They only want final payment day of. What?!

    Is it so that if they don't show up on the day of then I can't be upset because I never paid them anything? UGH!

    I had some of these same issues. DJs who would send the contract, photographers who would take several days (or weeks) to respond, etc. I ultimately decided if they couldn't respond within one business day, it was not someone I wanted working my wedding nor that I would feel safe giving my money to.

    OMG you would think right! I don't get why its a issue - i just mailed a check to my venue Friday. Just too much!

    Yes, I had this problem in the beginning. I was reaching out to all kinds of vendors for their pricing and availability. Some I heard back from right away (the ones who really wanted my money), and others I never heard back from. So, I started a list, and the ones who didn't respond within a few days got cut from the list of contenders. The ones who did respond timely got my business (for the most part). It was very frustrating, and I had those same thoughts, like shouldn't you want my money, and if so, why aren't you responding? Ok, I'll give my money to someone else.

    It has gotten better, now that I've gotten my major vendors booked.

    Yea, that's not cool at all! Do you guys have a contract to solidify that they will arrive. I would be so nervous if that was the case.

    Caterers! My venue only allows certain ones so I have to chase them down and they take forever to respond.
    I honestly considered backing out of the whole wedding over it.

    Girl i feel you that's my same feeling with my makeup artist at this point because I feel if you cant email me or talk to me now - how will you be the day of!?!

    I am the same like shouldn't you want my money! But I have mainly had this issue with my florist, makeup artist and trying to get my honeymoon payment processed. And the travel agent isn't bad honestly but I just am frustrated cause its happening with more then one person like why should i have to call you 3 times.

    Think I am taking everyone else method of if you don't reach out in a few days on to the next vendor. I did move on to a new florist for this very reason.

    OMG this is why i choose a all inclusive place because a lot of venues have preferred caters and some you need to rent chairs and it all seemed like too much. Girl really think on it I honestly feel like we should have planned a big trip and eloped cause the stress of all this is overwhelming.

    I'm struggling with people not responding to me as well, but for bookings. Like, HELLO! I'm trying to book your service and PAY YOU but I can't because you won't get back to me. Ugh.

    Our DJ was one of the vendors. He has done multiple weddings, showers, engagement parties for the family. We told him we wanted to give him a deposit anyway. We do have a signed contract.

    Our rentals were another. It's not a huge order, cake and gift table, bride and groom chairs, and 25 centerpiece stands. We have met with them, we have an invoice, and my FMIL is taking care of the coordination for delivery. They are the ones I am most worried about. I am going to ask for a signed invoice with delivery time and I will probably give them a deposit.
