Ok, so I finally have a florist and we are about 8 months out.

But here is my issue guys --

Why do I feel like I am chasing people to give them my money. Its soooo annoying. For example, my initial markup artist we spoke via text on 6/22 and I asked for a invoice to make a deposit and confirm the date. As of today still nothing. I have called my travel agent a few times to make a payment and I get it was a holiday weekend but G's I don't feel i should have to press upon people to give MY MONEY!

So I looked up another makeup artist on Saturday and she advised she would send me information (still don't have it)

Is this happening to anyone else!?

    This happened to me a little bit, and I had to constantly remind myself

    1) I'm way ahead of the game - if they don't want payment until xx date, then I should just relax

    2) I was emailing during peak wedding season and they were probably WAY more preoccupied with their current client load.

    9 times out of 10 if I just relaxed and calmed myself down (lol) they would get back to me - later than my heart would have hoped, but they did it! There was only one or two times where I had to go from email to phone call and beyond - but that turned out to be a reasonable personal situation on their behalf. Everything worked out perfectly in the end though! Smiley smile As long as you have a contract, you shouldn't worry too much about much Smiley smile

    I just got my contract for our rehearsal venue.... after 2 weeks!

    One of my girlfriends started a voicemail to a vendor during her wedding with, "I guess my wedding will be cheaper than I thought because I didn't have to pay my florist." So petty yet hysterical at the same time. Smiley xd

    I've been experiencing the SAME thing like don't you want my money - I said I'm willing to pay for the whole thing in FULL. Like, it's gotten to the point where I feel like I'm bugging and irritating some vendors - it's not like I call, text or email every day. If I don't hear back after a full 7 days I do a follow-up email or call. I really don't think I'm asking for much except confirmation and a few follow-up questions. Smiley ups

    YES!!! I’ve tried for 6 months to give our catering company the full amount!! Haven’t heard back yet!!! So I sent them a email/phone call letting them know we’re going to find someone else!!! Plus we have been trying to get our DJ to meet up with us to give him the retainer fee, nope no word yet!!! 🤦🏻‍♀️

    This is a good point! It is peak season for wedding vendors and I am way ahead of the game for a March 2020 wedding. Great advice - I will breathe and take it easy I honestly just want to pay everything off this year if I can.

    Nope, I don't think so at all and you are trying to pay in full so you would think they would be even more excited. Wishing us the best of luck, hopefully, we have better luck after peak season.

    I asked someone for information about their venue and it took them a month to finally respond. You’d think it would be a well crafted, specific email, but no. It was the same generic email that’s already prepared to send out. No thanks, check your email more often.

    YES! This happens sooo much! I finally found a good HMUA that actually responds. The only vendor I have had who hasn't given any trouble is my cake lady and that's because she is a little business and every customer counts.
