Is it normal to check in with guests?

I don’t think this is normal. I’ve attended 20+ weddings in the last 10 years and no one has ever done this.

I think it’s a nice gesture especially with destination weddings. I plan on sending an email with the program to the guests the week of. Another email with in depth detail for the bridal party and their families.

I honestly wouldn’t and I wouldn’t expect it either! You’re going to be very busy and the less stress you give yourself the better in my opinion! The only questions they would have should be answered or found on your wedding website. Otherwise they really shouldn’t be bothering you!

You've got enough to do, if someone does have a question, they'll ask!

I might check in with the friends on my side but mainly just because I'm excited to see them. Many of my friends on the list I haven't seen since the pandemic started

That's nice, but I wouldn't open up this can of worms. You might be busy running around & you'll get texts asking where they can get good pizza or worse, complaints you can't solve. Save your energy.

I’ve never had this happen as a guest. You certainly can but it’s not required or expected. The new trend is to cover all FAQ and info on websites which can be given with save the dates.
