Is it ok to skip the garter toss?

I am not sure I am confortable with my husband taking my garter off with his teeth in front of my entire family and their children, and then throwing it into a crowd of men after I have been wearing it 5 inches from my hoo-hah all day. If I do the bouquet toss should I do the garter toss too? My family is kinda...proper.

Cassidy- I love Say Anything! We thought about using that song for our garter toss as well.

We are definitely doing both tosses but there is no way anyone besides my husband will be putting my garter on my leg- and I'm certainly not going to make any of my girl friends get felt up by a guy she may or may not know. At my SIL's wedding, the people who caught the bouquet and garter were actually dating, so it worked out and was funny, but it would be super awkward in any other situation.

We're just going to do the fun, toned down versions and that's it.

Nope, not doing it. Not wearing a garter either. Disgusting "tradition" to us. Not doing bouquet either.

Dont think you have to but its fun. I had two garters....and totally forgot to put on either one. LOL!!! I didn't realize it til it was time for the garter toss. I looked at the wedding planner with this helpless look on my face. DH had to stall until they went and found it.

EdieKristen - we love Say Anything. I know we'll probably play 'Walk Through Hell' during the reception.

I'm doing the bouquet toss but not doing the garter as their won't be many single men so there's no point.
