Is it okay to be completely involved in your own bridal shower?

My sister and my best friend are throwing me a bridal shower and I want to know if it's okay for me to be completely involved with all the planning. I'm not sure what the etiquette is on that. My sister and my best friend are throwing me a bridal shower and I want to know if it's okay for me to be completely involved with all the planning. I'm not sure what the etiquette is on that. I have so many ideas and I've seen so many cute things online that I want to buy but is it considered tacky for me to be so actively involved?

My shower is still 3 months away but I know for a fact those two will save everything for last minute and many things have to be ordered online. I would much rather have everything done in advance. I don't expect them to finalize anything this quickly as (I know that's crazy) but I was hoping to buy some of the decorations within the next month. I don't want to offend them though. Can anyone tell me what the right thing to do is?

OK what you explained SoontobeNicoleEstevez is different than what I origanally understood. I personally wouldn't call it a shower but sounds like a very nice gesture for your bridal party.

JHazel please don't loose sleep over me hun.

I'm confused. So this is definitely NOT a shower, where friends and family and often times coworkers etc all get together, but a bridal party only spa day hosted by the bride.. So why call it a shower?

I don't really think it's a big deal, my sister had a lot of input for her shower- she's giving me the same option although I don't have any suggestions for her... If you bridal party is fine with it then I don't see the issue.

Oh wow...thanks for the responses. Didn't mean to start a debate but it's a good way to get various perspectives. I think what you're doing SoontobeNicoleEstevez is very sweet and I might steal your idea to treat my bridal party. It won't be my shower since my sister and friend really want to throw me a shower.

I think the consensus is that I back off and let them plan it since it is what they want to do. I just can't wait to plan someone's shower to use all the cute stuff I've been seeing online.

    Thanks for the input everyone!

I’m so glad I read your comment... because I’m buying and renting everything for my shower and I’ll let them decorate. This is my first Wedding and I want it to be unforgettable plus all my bridesmaids live in different states. I just don’t want ANYONE to stress about buying anything but their dresses and shoes but they can decorate and be the clean up crew lol
