Beginner December 2023

Is it too early to be exhausted already! đŸ˜© lol

Ashliegh, on February 22, 2022 at 10:14 PM Posted in Planning 1 18

I said yes 2/18/2022 & already I am stressed. Vendors not responding, if they are price is to high. If price is right then my date is booked already. My date is 12/17/2022. ïżŒ

So sorry you’re going through that. That’s a pretty short engagement and unfortunately a lot of 2022 dates are already booked because of all the 2020 and 2021 postponements. If you’re not fully tied to the date you might consider moving to 2023, you might have better luck with vendors then.

That's so frustrating. However, this is why people say you don't have a date until you have a venue. Most places book out at least a year in advance, so the more flexible you can be, the easier this process will be. Even pre-Covid, a lot of venues would book a year out.

Thank you for the advice. It makes sense. Fingers crossed I will have venue I want by the end of this weekend.

Thank you. I thought about 23 first. My fiance wanted sooner, but like you said we may have better luck in 23

Congrats! You'll have to be patient and flexible. Choose your venue first, and then the date depending on when your venue is available. There's alot of weddings planned for 2022. And wedding vendors are currently super busy. They work events Thursday through Sunday. If you just started teaching out to people on Friday 2/18, you can't expect them to respond to you over the weekend, especially a holiday weekend. Give people a week to respond to emails or calls.

I got engaged in January and planning my wedding this upcoming September. So I completely understand the struggles with booking vendors right now. My suggestion, is only keep a few vendor types in mind and either cutting out/ or do them yourself. Especially since your saying some vendors are costing to much.

For us we will only have the Venue, Photographer, Officiant and Cater for lunch hired. Everything else like makeup, flowers, cake, decor , music we’re doing are selfs.
But of course do what’s best for you and happy wedding planning. Congratulations!!

Thank you. Congratulations to you also. I was so happy to see I'm not the only one that has a short window. Gives me alot of hope it can be done. We will be doing most of it ourselves, like music, decor etc. It works for us 😀

That’s great, have you thought about venues a bit farther away then? Since it seems you’re doing a lot on your own. You can have a lot more venue options. We are doing are wedding about 2.5 hours away from where we live.

Yes. I searched that first. I think I may have found one in my town. I'm calling them today to try and lock in my date.

That’s awesome, hopefully they save your date. Make sure if you haven’t already, look at the venue and find out what they do or do not offer at the venue. Smiley smile

Girl I feel you! The beginning of planning was the most stressful part for me so far. It's when you are booking all the big things - venue, catering, etc. and it only gets more frustrating when people don't respond. This happened to me a lot so I understand how you feel. It looks like you might have gotten a venue, which is great! Everything will begin to fall into place. Good luck!
