Is it too late to ask my besties to be in my wedding?

Got engaged on Xmas 2020, shortly after I started planning and set a date for 11/12/2021. I still haven’t officially asked my two besties to be in my wedding. We were just going to have our kids in the wedding. They both understand and I told them the groom and I are thinking about what we actually should/want to do. Bestie #1 has been active in helping to plan my bridal shower, etc. Bestie #2 is like “let me know if you need anything” and feels traditionally the bridesmaids/MOH help plan bridal shower, etc and doesn’t want to overstep which is not normal for her. My question is it too late to send them an invite to be my maid of honor/matron of honor?
