Is it weird i don’t want to walk down the aisle to “here comes the bride?”

Okay so I’m a terrible over thinker, I’m also not very traditional but i just absolutely do not want to walk down the aisle to the traditional wedding march.... i have a couple songs in mind i think I’d like and even though about how sweet it would be to let my fiancé pick a song for me to walk down the aisle too, however, will people be in the same page if they don’t here “dum dum du dum!” (Admit it you knew the exact sound and tone for that)

I think it's very common now for people to walk down the aisle to something different. My cousin's bride walked down the aisle to his father playing "Marry Me" on the guitar. I won't be walking to Here Comes the Bride, that's for sure.

I've never been to a wedding when that was played. Many church don't permit it and others want something tasteful and personal.

It's not weird at all. I would have thought most people no longer walk to the wedding march, I haven't heard it at a wedding anyway

I won't be waking to that either! I think its more common lately for brides to walk to other songs.

I HATE the wedding march. Lot of people walk to other songs anymore. I have Harry Potter music I'm walking to, lots of people use that thousand year song that was on Twilight, and one girl on here is walking to the Last Unicorn theme on organ (which I think is just magical).

I don't think it's weird at all. Our guests will be called to the ceremony by bagpipes and I will be walking down the aisle to an instrumental version of Elvis Presley "Can't help falling in love".

Not weird at all.. I can't remember the last wedding I went to that played the Wedding March for the bride's entrance.

My FH wants me to walk down to aisle to a Yiruma piano song. I come home to him playing those songs almost every day.

I'm more traditional and I'll be walking to Pachebel's Canon in D, but I'm of the school of thought that you should walk to whatever you like!

Considering the story of the opera where the wedding march (actually called the Bridal chorus) came from, there was no way I wanted to use it. At the end of the opera, they both die. I walked down the aisle to the instrumental of Over the rainbow. Seemed a lot more uplifting than the bridal chorus.
