Is it weird to have your mother as your maid of honor?

My mom is the closest person to me. I tell her everything. And she’s always there for me. I have a few close girl friends but it would be hard to choose one. I told my fiancé I wanted my mom to be my maid of honor and he laughed and said that’s weird 😏 now I don’t know what to do or who to pick.

My mom is also my "best friend" besides my husband. I didn't ask her to be my MOH because I thought people would judge me and also because I wanted her to be sitting to watch the ceremony.
That said, if it's what YOU want, I don't see why not. Also keep in mind you don't have to have a bridal party if you don't want one.
