Is it weird to not have any bridesmaids?

Robin, on December 10, 2022 at 12:50 AM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 8

I have a lot of close friends and my bridal party would be too big if I chose everybody, so I just decided not to have any bridesmaids. Is anybody else doing this or is this abnormal?

I don't think so. It's your wedding and you can pretty much do whatever you want. I would just make sure your fiance is okay with not having groomsmen unless you are okay with him still having groomsmen.

I'm the opposite. I only have 2 really good friends. Lol

But it won't be weird. Just might be a little short during the walking portion of the ceremony. But that's not even a problem.

Not weird at all, I’ve seen many folks choosing that option lately!

I definitely did this. Too many friends too many personalities. One of the unique things that I did is that I had all of my friends sitting in a special section of the wedding ceremony, and I gifted them all special gifts, such as Tiffany bracelets. And then I also picked out a few single girlfriends, and gave them temporary bills as a source of inspiration instead of doing the bouquet toss.

I'm not having any. This is our second wedding and it's going to be small. I will have my niece and nephew help out with the bouquet and rings but they are not "officially" in the wedding. Everyone is fine with this.

We decided to have no wedding party and it's the best decision i've made so far in this wedding planning journey! You don't have to wake up extra early because you have to start getting ready with all your bridesmaids and you can also spend more time taking photos with your partner before the wedding after "first look" since you don't have to take a bunch of wedding party photos. Because of this, we will be able to actually enjoy cocktail hour and eat the food and spend time with our guests as we don't have to go off to take couple photos after the ceremony.

Nah, totally normal. I've known multiple people who didn't have a bridal party, my sister in fact. I decided not to have a maid of honor for the same reasons, and because my friends and family rival a lot.
