Is it weird to not want a wedding band?

I LOVE my engagement ring and I don't want to change it. I have tried on wedding bands with it but they all just make my ring look well gaudy (sp). Plus I have really small fingers so adding another band to my finger just looks riduculous. Are there any other brides out there who just didn't buy a...

I'm not getting a band either! Sometimes I have to explain when people comment on my ring though, that it is my engagement ring, bc it's not traditional at all. So that made me think I should get a band. But then, I like it without and in the end it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks anyway!

Did you ever think of getting a wedding band that you like on it's own that it s little more plain so you can switch back and forth? My mom has a e-ring/band set and then a seperate plain band cause sometimes she doesn't feel like wearing diamonds or she is doing something where she wouldn't want to mess them up like cleaning or going swiming. I love my ring but sometimes because the one diamond is raised so high I feel like I'm always banging it, esp. at work. I can't wait to get a flatter plain band so I have the option of wearing just that and not my e-ring all the time.

Oh that is a good idea Amanda. I never thought of that. Hmm, now I have something else to think about too! My plan as of now would be to get my rings soldered together. But I think having a plain band as well would be a great option. Have to see if it's in the budget.

Keep looking. I love my ring and it's so unique. It has curves to it so I figured I wouldn't find a band that looked right. Then I told people that I wasn't going to have a band...they didn't think that was right. So that got me to looking and I eventually found a fabulous band. It mimics the part of my ring that I love. The 2 are gorgeous together! So maybe keep looking...if you don't find anything then it's no loss. But maybe you will find one that you love! Good luck!

If you decide not to get a wedding that is totally up to you. As an officiant make sure you tell your officiant you will not be doing a ring exchange during the ceremony. You don't want your officiant to say "may I please have the rings" only to find out there aren't any.

I know it was all the rage a few years back to have a super duper skinny band like almost paper thin that you can't really tell is there. Maybe ask your jeweler about it? To me I can't imagine not having a wedding band! But you have to do what is right for you but it seems like from what you have said in the posts is you just don't like the look of it and that makes me think you may regret not having one so I would suggest just getting a ring for the vows but then keep it as a symbol but not necessarily wear it.

I agree with Bayridge, that is what I did. Both my engagement ring and band have diamonds and they did not look right together so I wear one on my right hand and the other on my left. It's symmetrical, lol! I'm a little OCD so it works great for me.

Sachele i'm thinking that may be the way to go for me. Just have one for the ceremon as a symbol but than not necessarily wear it. Thanks again ladies :-)

My engagement ring was a simple small diamond because we had made the decision to get a whole different ring for the wedding ring because i also didnt want a band added to it Smiley smile

I’m not getting a band. I absolutely hate how they look with rings. 🥴 My ring makes a large statement and is too much with any kind of band with it. So, I told my fiancé to not get a band. I won’t have one. 😊
