Is It Weird to Only Have One Maid of Honor & One Best Man and No Other Wedding Party???

So these days I'm seeing all these brides with a huge bridal party---7-8 brides maids and 7-8 groomsmen. Personally, I want something a little smaller. I want just one maid of honor and one best man but I don't know if that will look right? I also want my little cousins to be my flower girl and ring...

Just wondering if anyone else was doing something similar? Any ideas/advice would be great, thanks! Congrats to all the brides & grooms out there! :-)

I'm having 2 of each, not sure about the ring bearer or flower girl yet though.

Thats not weird at all! My fiance and I are having only flower girls and ring bearers! 8 kids in all and no one else. Really cuts out the drama!

We only had one MOH and one BM, we also had two ring bearers as a way to include DS nephews, but we were more than okay with one of each.

For my first wedding, we had one maid of honor and one best man. For my second wedding, we asked my son to be best man and my daughter to be maid of honor. My son said he couldn't be best man, because a best man is a groom's attendant, and we were rather lacking in a groom. We therefore ended up with a maid of honor and a dude of honor.

Of course, there were only about a dozen people at our ceremony the second time. It would have looked funny to have half of them up front. But the first time, there were about 80 people, and we still had only the two attendants.

I'm so glad other people are doing this too! I just didn't wanna be a weirdo lol

But I figured it would minimize drama/costs plus, I don't have that many girl friends I'd feel comfortable asking for that big of a commitment

There will be only one of each at mine. The funny thing is it will be my son and daughter.

I say whatever you want! if it's a small wedding that's perfect, if it's big, people may be a little confused, but seriously who cares what everyone says!

That is all that we had... plus my hubby's son. So, there was only 3 standing with us. We wanted it to be more personal and not get to crazy.

I may end up with my 3 girls, and no BM for FH if he doesn't get on the ball and ask someone!

If I didn't need witnesses I wouldn't have had anyone stand with us... as it is I chose my two Aunts (didn't feel right to have one and not the other) and we were able to get their dresses off the rack at Le Chateau (on sale!). FH is having his brother and an old friend to keep the numbers even.

We are only have one MOH and one BM. Since our venue is intimate, we didn't want the huge wedding party. The MOH and BM are a couple whose friendship we value dearly.

Our children are participating by providing the music for our ceremony. '

THe first time around, I had 5 bridesmaids, 5 groomsmen and a flower girl. It was too much.

Not strange at all. My best friend is standing with me, his best friend with him and thats it. No flower girl, no ring boy, nothing! It's your show, do it your way!
