Is my apartment large enough for my bridal shower?

Andrea, on June 19, 2019 at 8:51 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 8
My sister is hosting my bridal shower in my apartment. It is large at about 1200 square feet. The dining room/living room are very large and are open to each other with no wall dividing the 2. We have plenty of seating and and the furniture can be moved in such a way to accommodate everyone. Only thing is, there are 16 (including sister and I) that I’d like to invite. They are extremely close friends and I’d feel awful not inviting some. I’ve had parties of up to 12 and we have all fit confortably. We will have tons of food and drinks, along with some fun games planned. Is this too many people?

You know your apartment layout/space best. If you have had 12 people comfortably and think that you can fit another 4 people without it being too crowded, invite everyone! You also have to consider that there's a chance people will RSVP no. If it were me I would invite the extra 4 people knowing that people do wander/stand around.

I think it will be fine. If they are close friends and family nobody will care if it’s a bit close and intimate. Have fun!

Agree with others that this should probably be fine. If you don't have enough chairs, see if you can borrow some folding chairs from friends/family. But, if at least a few guests are young & healthy enough, I've been to plenty of showers where a few people sat on the floor for gift opening (which might be the only time everyone is going to want to be in one close space). The downstairs of our home is probably around 1200 sq feet, with the living room/dining room/kitchen all adjacent, and I think we've probably had at least 30 in the house on more than one occasion. People mingle and congregate wherever there is space. Happy shower! Smiley heart

I am almost positive this will work. How many people are you inviting? I invited 20 and 13 showed up.

I think you'll be fine as long as you have seating for every single person at 1 time. We had a little more than 20 women at my mom's house, and her kitchen & dining room & living room are probably 2,000 sf. That's where all the seating was, it was MORE than enough space.

Thank you everyone! You put me at ease! There will be plenty of room for everyone to sit and lots of space to mingle and eat.
