Is my engagement ring tacky??

Here are my thoughts. Those people do not deserve to be apart of your big day. Even if that is what they think, they should keep that to themselves. Everyone has different tastes, heck I have been to weddings where I did not think the bride's dress was flattering but I would never say anything like that or anything negative about their big day. Your ring symbolizes love and it is beautiful. I would also in the future limit wedding talk with said people to avoid their nasty opinions. I am so sorry.

OMG RUDE!! That is awful, especially from supposed "adults." Don't they remember: if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all! Wow.

Also, imo your ring is GORGEOUS!! Really beautiful! Who cares if the stone is large? I think it's wonderful that your FH loves you so much he got you the best ring he could find!! I love it! Those people are rude, wrong, and not worth your time. If you love the ring, wear it with pride!! Happy planning!

Do what my Southern Mama taught me to do:

"Well bless your heart darlin', I didn't even think how badly you must feel without a ring/with such a small ring/divorced! FH just thought I deserved something that showed off how much he's willing to invest in our future together! I'll pray for you!"

Then smile and bat your eyes and walk away!

My FH got me a blue diamond center stone with a white gold band. My parents did't care for it at first, but I wanted a colored stone center and I am over the moon with it!!

I understand that this is a hard time for everyone, but man that was so rude and inconsiderate. I'm so sorry that they said those words to you, if I was in your position, I would politely tell everyone had the audacity to insult the ring to just screw themselves.

I think your engagement ring is beautiful, yeah, it's a big stone, but the size of that stone represents how much love he has for you!

I'd be tempted to respond with immense sarcasm myself. "I'm so pleased you gave me your opinion on my fiance's choice. You've made my day so much better. I'm gonna go and tell that man I won't marry him because of his poor jewellery purchase."

Some people have never heard of manners, and others just do anything to bring you down. My sister would be the same. I wasn't allowed joy in anything. She had to say something horrid. Just remember that it says a lot about them, and nothing about you.

Geez, people are rude! Your ring doesn't look disproportionate to your hand or fake. It's beautiful and you should wear it proudly!

Your ring is beautiful and your fiancee went out and chose it for you. My ring isn't my style either but my FH told me his side of looking and it makes it special. Don't let the haters comments get to you. Enjoy your ring, celebrate it.

Your ring is beautiful and I'm so sorry anyway has said different. I was distance yourself from anyone with these ridiculously negative opinions and get them out of your life. Several of our friends have engagement rings work $30k+ and they are huge, but obviously they are real? And they don't look tacky at all.
