Is my engagement ring tacky??

So since announcing our engagement I’ve gotten like 4 or 5 comments from different people telling me how tacky my ring looks. That it’s “obviously fake” because of its size, that’s its “ridiculously sized”, that it’s “way too showy”, and just all around people saying we’re showing off. Not gonna lie this like for real hurt my feelings. It is pretty big and not something i wouldve chosen for myself, i would’ve chosen a much smaller center stone, but dang that’s hurtful. And i would never tell my fiancé that. Idk though, now every time i look at it i can’t stop thinking about those comments and it’s kind of ruining the excitement about my ring 😞 I guess my question is, is it really that tacky and distasteful? I understand that it is pretty bulky but idk?? I don’t even know how to respond to those comments
