Is only hosting beer and wine okay?

We will be having a full bar, but only will be hosting the beer and wine. Would you be okay with that if you were a guest? I have it fully stated on our wedding website so it shouldn't be a surprise. Is only hosting beer and wine rude? We just didn't find it an option financially to have a full open...

Is only hosting beer and wine rude? We just didn't find it an option financially to have a full open bar as we have heavy drinkers and it would cost a couple extra thousand.

We're only hosting beer and wine. Most of our guests don't drink much liquor and the few that do are best kept away from it...

We are only doing beer and wine as well. Personally, most weddings I’ve been to recently have been beer and wine. I wouldn’t consider it rude at all.

At my first wedding, we did beer and wine only, but there were guests who wanted to have cocktails, so they just paid for them at the lobby bar and brought them in (it was in a hotel ballroom). If having cocktails available for purchase is an option, but still having several others that are free for guests, you are not putting them out. I think it's a great idea.

I think it's fine! That's what we are considering doing.

I won't even be offering hard alcohol at our wedding. Not even a cash bar, so in my opinion you are fine.

We're hosting beer, wine and two signature cocktails! I would just say only have beer & wine. Don't give your guest an option to pay forvtheir own drinks.

That is complete fine. For us we are only doing beer and a adult punch. Not a lot of drinkers so we will mainly have water, soda, tea, and lemonade.

I personally love a good signature cocktail at a wedding but I would not be mad with any free booze! Plus your reasoning is completely understandable.

Beer and wine are fine. But no more expensive, many people would like a choice of hot or cold coffee with 2 oz coffee liqueur in it. Not pricey Kailua, much less expensive and less super sweet ones like Picalla fine.
