Is rehearseal dinner required?

Ally, on January 10, 2020 at 2:28 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 6

My wedding is going to be pretty causal. My fiance and I are pretty laid-back people and we're on a budget. We're planning on having our wedding party and our parents help the night before the wedding with decorating our venue and going over the basics of who does what during the ceremony.

We really don't have a lot of extra money to pay for a fancy dinner for 12+ people, so it okay to just nix the rehearsal dinner and just have everyone meet for pizza after we finish setting up if they want to (we'd be paying for pizza and pop). Or would this be considered tacky? I don't want to seem rude to my guests.

As long as you are paying for it, that is absolutely fine. Pizza is a very popular choice for rehearsal dinners. Rehearsals aren't even required, but since you are having them provide decorating labor, paying for dinner is the right thing to do.

I don’t think pizza is rude. The last wedding I was BM for we just had a low-key BBQ at the couple’s house. Hot dogs, burgers on the grill, chips, soft drinks.
