Is thank cards too late?

Elizabeth, on January 8, 2020 at 4:41 PM Posted in Married Life 0 19

Hi ya'll,

So I just got married two months ago and we want to send thank you cards to everyone that gifted us a gift and attended our wedding. However, I'm curious if it's too late for thank you cards? With the holidays and my and my now husband birthday it has been a bit hectic.

Typically up to 6 months is acceptable. The holidays even give you a little extra time!

    Hi Elizabeth,
Congratulations, I've always been told that you had 6 months to send them out!

Usually within 3 months from the wedding is good so you are still fine to send them out.

3 months is usually the timeline given, but earlier is better. Even a late thank you is better than no thank you, so just get them out as soon as you can and it will be OK.

Definitely not too late; though I'd get the thank you notes written and sent out sooner rather than later. I'd much rather receive a thank you note a few months after the wedding than not at all (I'm still slightly bitter about the lack of thank you note from a wedding in 2015 in which I had given a very nice gift).

No matter any supposed timeline, this definitely falls into the category of "better late than never." I wouldn't worry about the timing any more, and just get them out as soon as possible so you can stop thinking about them. Consider this a gift to yourselves! Smiley smile

Any thank you card (no matter how late) is 1,000x better than no thank you card.

Absolutely not too late. As a guest I would rather get one later than never revive one at all.

No! You need to send thank you cards regardless of long it has been. Not sending a thank you card would be rude. Better late than never.

It’s never too late. Make it a priority. Do 5 each night. And your husband too. It’s an easy way to have your wedding remembered. And they need to be personalized. Dear x- thanks so much for sharing our special day. We loved x that you gave us. Or the money you gave us helped us to buy a new bedroom set. Blah blah.

I think you get 3 months, some people think you get a year. Either way, skipping them all together is the worst.

No not at all! i think roughly 3-6 months is average time frame? I got married in November and we are just about to finish them up. I've been sending them in spurts lol Go ahead and send them! i found that if you write out about 5 a day and then mail them at the end of the week it helps take some of the pressure off.
