Is the 21 day fix worth it?

Danielle, on March 20, 2015 at 6:56 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 19

Before I invest I would like to hear what kind of results people are getting.

I am almost a week in and I definitely would recommed it IFFF you are self motivated and organized enough to ensure you are prepping your food and holding yourself accountable to doing the videos. Also keep in mind that the half hour exercises are very challenging. Great program though.

It is a good program, but you have to be willing to do the prep work. FH and I did it and it was A LOT to prep and figure out since we were both in different weight brackets.

My mom has done this, and has been following the program since September. She has lost 75 pounds! Looks and feels great, however I know she has a VERY rigorous system she absolutely does not deviate from. I'm not sure I could be that strict with myself nor be that accountable!

I'm doing it now and think it's great, it's expensive but then you have everything you need and its there. I didn't bother with the shakeology and have been using nature's bounty protein shakes instead.

It's about $60, but you can pay it in 3 installments if that helps.

I did buy a months worth of Shakeology plus the 14 days they gave me, and I have been using it as my "breakfast". I purple of frozen strawberries, scoop of chocolate shakeology, water and a teaspoon of PB2. (I know, I know, real PB would be better lol). That has been helpful bc normally I'm starving before lunch and if I did eat, I would want to over do it. OR, I'd just have more coffee and skip lunch bc I'd be busy or hadn't packed anything. Which badly messes with your metabolism.

Lunch has been salad with no dressing (2 green) and shredded chicken (1 red) and my blue has been nuts right before I go home from work. Dinner has been chicken and a veggie.

I'm ending up with colors left over but I had become one of those people that survived on coffee all day long and then had a granola bar at 430p and then a giant dinner. So, it's a work in progress. This is my "practice week" and honestly I was able to button a pair of jeans I couldn't button for the last few months. Tomorrow starts my first real round and I will try and do better at eating everything.

I also ordered the 3 day refresh which I will be doing the 3 days prior to my boudior shoot on 5/8.

IMO, any eating healthy/exercise program you can stick to is worth it! But its on YOU to keep doing it

I'm currently working on my meal plans. I'm a huge nerd so I have a self populating excel spreadsheet to make planning easier. My mom and I are starting in 2 weeks.

I have some friends that have had great success with the 21 day fix, but my fiance and I decided to go with Arbonne's 30 days to Healthy Living! In one month he lost 20 lbs and I lost 10 lbs...we've been keeping with the products and diet for 2 1/2 months now and he's down nearly 30 lbs and I'm down 15 lbs! It's been amazing!! I have all the info if you're interested! :-)

I actually just bought it over the weekend!! It will be here early April. I've had more success with at home workouts than gym workouts because I don't have to travel anywhere. It costs about 3-4 months at the gym so I figure it's worth it if, as other girls have said, you can stick to it.

My biggest problem is sticking to a diet, I lift and do cardio 4x a week. Maybe weight watchers is a better bet for me.

I think you'll find it easier than you think. I did weight watchers, and I hated counting points all the time. With the 21 day fix, you just use the containers to measure out your food. After a couple of weeks, you'll learn what portions should look like and can eye ball it from there. I'm not a weight loser, but I did lose about 10 inches in 12 weeks on the program last year. (enough to lose my love handles and then some!) I didn't follow the plan to a T, just because I like a glass a wine a day and I refuse to trade 3 carbs for 1 glass of wine 3 times per week. (or whatever that stupid rule was lol) I recommend trying it. I had a lot of fun with it!

I like way of grey. It's healthy eating guidelines with workouts. The complete journey takeover is 30 dollars. Just like with the 21 day fix, it's on you to stick to it.

I'm on day 15 of the fix and officially down 6 lbs! I was in the second food bracket, so the amount of food is actually quite a lot if you figure out when to eat what during the day so youre not hungry. (protein, protein, protein all day helps too). The workouts are definitely challenging, but not too challenging that you cant get through it and there are modifiers for every move. Honestly, I was skeptical I would do it a few days and give up and go find a cheeseburger somewhere, but I'm SUPER proud of myself for actually sticking with it, and my fiance has been super supportive. Give it a try! You definitely won't regret it.

    Hi Danielle,

Before you spend the money on a new program ask yourself if you will be able to maintain the results after the wedding. You don't want to go through the expense and effort only to gain back all the weight you lose after your honeymoon. I have worked with so many women who have lost weight for their weddings and gained it all back (plus more) and ultimately felt really demoralized that they couldn't live at their ideal weight.

Choose an exercise routine and eating patterns that you enjoy, and are sustainable, so that you can commit to them for the long term.

Wishing you luck and a healthy, vibrant future!

    Jennifer

I did it for the 21 days and lost 10lbs. Then my mother came into town. Now I've gained back the 10 plus another 5. You HAVE to stick to it. Forget about eating real pasta or pizza or any of that ever again. Granulated sugar? Kiss that goodbye.

Oh the Shakeology powder.... $142 per month. If you go the vegan protein powder you can achieve the same results. That's about $30 in Amazon.
