Is the middle of July a nice time to get married?

Ally, on May 8, 2018 at 11:59 AM Posted in New Jersey Planning 0 8
I settled on July 13th (or the 20th if needed). I am not worried about the heat, as I picked a venue with central air, but my concern would be weather, such a rain or thunderstorms. Anyone have any valuable input about using July? Just to note- I absolutely hate being cold at all. The venue I am looking into can accommodate both outdoor and indoor. Thanks in advance for any help!

We are getting married July 20th 2019. I do worry about the heat and humidity some, but I also know that unfortunately good weather is never really assured for any time of year...and its better than a snow storm. We are having a short ceremony outside, but we have an indoor backup plan if we need it. The rest of our wedding is inside with an optional outdoor shaded patio with ceiling fans if guests do want to go outside. I think as long as you have an indoor backup plan it will be ok.

Yes for sure. The 20th is my backup day just in case something happens with booking. The venues main room is central air. The barn room has ceiling fans and both ends up up if you choose. There is also an outdoor area too. Any weather can work with this place so I don't worry much about the heat. I do worry about summer storms

Thanks! you too!! I totally get the concern about thunderstorms, but unfortunately it can rain at any time of the year. I hope it doesn't rain, but at least rain doesn't (usually) shut down airports like snow. And hopefully it is too early in the season for some kind of hurricane or tropical storm. Those tend to be more August or September (Hopefully, I am not jinxing it now!)

Im sort of concerned as well. Our vow renewal would ideally happen August 8, 2020. BUT my parents dont tolerate heat well, and i would also prefer to do a ceremony outside.. or at least be able to be outside for some time but summer is brutal... so we might consider October. 2 months off of our anniversary BUT hopefully more tolerable weather conditions.

We might still do August, the venue would HAVE to have central air

Our venue does have central air but also outdoor options if people want to go outside. I'd never book a place without ac.... even with dancing it gets too hot. My fiance's cousin got married in May and it was Freezing and raining and in a tent. Half the guests had their jackets on you never know what you'll get

Yea for real..the way weather has been in may in NJ is crazy! I think out of 31 days there might have been 10 w no rain. I'd do a tent wedding in early june or late September/October but u r right it's always a gamble w outdoor venues
I think u have your bases covered w indoor plan and outside option if able or want to!!!

We are getting married at Sussex conservatory and I love it because the entire building is glass and gives and outdoor feeling and then there's a backyard garden to go outside and mingle. I need the balance lol. And then at night it's fine regardless of weather
