Is the ring too small?

Kimberly, on October 25, 2019 at 12:02 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
Recently got a beautiful ering upgrade. I had a size 5 previously and it was too big, nearly falling off when cold and spun to the palm immediately after putting it on so I ended up getting a size 4 with the new one.
Here's the dilemma, I have big knuckles and skinny fingers. The 4 is a struggle to get passed my knuckle in normal circumstances, it takes a bit of finessing. When I'm swollen it's nearly impossible so I just wait it out until my fingers go down a bit. It fits fine once it's on though, still a little loose and still spins a bit it's just my annoyingly large knuckles that are the issue.
I'm thinking of adding a band or two just to take up some more room to try to minimize spinning, I'm not sure how that would work out and I'm also not sure if my ering is too small or not since it is still a little loose once it's on. Any other people with big knuckles who can give me some advice?

I would have it sized to fit over your knuckles and then use a ring guard to keep it in place.

    Me!!
I use a ring guard. It’s a pain to put on/take off everyday, but it helps prevent a ton of spinning. At least we don’t have to worry about loosing the ring. ☺️

I also have thin fingers and small knuckles! I originally had a size 5 ring and it always spun and would slide off easily. I then went to a very trusted jeweler who told me I should get size 4.5 so I listened. At first when i got it, I thought it was way too small but that was only because I was used to wearing a ring that’s too big 😂 I can’t get my ring off at all when I’m hot lol. When I’m cold it’s still a bit of a struggle. But once I got used to it, it’s SOOO much more comfortable, and a relief because I KNOW I don’t have to worry about it falling off accidentally! As long as it’s not leaving indents in your finger, it’s not too small (and even with that, when I’m REALLY hot once in a blue moon mine leaves indents, but not on a regular basis)

Is your ring guard your ering size or did you size up for it? I've been looking at them but I keep seeing you should go up a half size with the gaurd because of how wide the band will be

My ring is a 4.5 just to go over the knuckle. My back finger is at least a 4, may be smaller. However with a 4 I can’t put over my knuckle. I truly have big knuckle problems. I just got a cheap ring guard from Amazon. Eventually I may take it to the jewelry to figure out something more permanent.
