Is there a difference between a bridal shower and wedding shower?

Lisa, on June 22, 2014 at 2:14 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

Or do they serve the same purpose? FH and I want to have a guys and girls at the "bridal shower", so would that technically just be a wedding shower??

I think that's exactly the difference. I think only women attend a bridal shower because it's all about the bride.

I think all of them should be called wedding showers, but especially if the groom and his friends will be there, too.

I also think bridal shows should be called wedding shows.

I thought the bridal shower was just things for the bride like nighties and things like that and the wedding shower was more things for the house , but then i'm not sure this is my first time to lol

Yeah, I don't want a "bridal shower" for the fact that this is not just "my" wedding, it is also FH too. We are creating a registry together, so they are his gifts too... so I want to have a wedding shower where he and the guys can come and have food, drinks and fun as well.

I've always heard the term co-ed shower when males were invited. I've been to both bridal and wedding showers and there weren't any men in attendance. I called mine a bridal shower and a wedding shower depending on how I felt that day.

100% of the things on our registry are for him. He's the cook/baker/etc. in the family. We created our list together. Most people just sent our gifts to the house. Most of the shower gifts were money, random bridal things like jewelry, and gift cards for spa days.

    Terms might be regional, though.
