Is there anyone else who doesn’t want to postpone?

Veriya, on March 24, 2020 at 9:29 PM Posted in Community Conversations 2 7
Hi everyone - thinking of you all during this tough time. We have a destination wedding planned for June 13th, and currently our resort is closed, the border is closed, and things aren’t looking good. If we can’t have the wedding when we wanted to, I don’t really want to reschedule. Trying to figure out alternate dates and planning all over again just doesn’t sound appealing. Plus, we have other things we want to focus on in the coming year, and this whole crisis really puts things in perspective. I think the loss of a wedding (potentially) hasn’t hit me yet, but are any of you also not feeling the option of postponing? I think we would just cancel :-/

I just said something similar. I'm leaning toward any type of wedding as long as it is on our date. Future anniversaries can have the big parties!

Ditto! Although our date is in the fall, I just don’t trust the way the government is handling everything. So I’m not yet convinced that it will be contained by our wedding date. So we’ve agreed to get married on our date, regardless (even if it’s just us) and then celebrate with guests at a later time. We selected 10/10/20 as our date to get MARRIED and not just for the wedding aspect. So the marriage will go on!

I would wait a few more weeks just to see how things go but you could still get married on your date and have a wedding later?

It makes such a mess. My date is 4/25/2020 a month from now and we hate we have to reschedule and now we have to wait everyday in fear this will happen again, it is awful

I can see your dilemma. it's hard to want to think of any other date given how much effort and time has been put into the date you've been planning. i hope things work out for you ! stay positive.

I'm so sorry you're facing possibly having to make that decision. I can totally understand where you're coming from. June is still a bit away, so I would hold off on canceling unless it makes a difference in whether or not you get a refund. Sending positive thoughts your way and fingers crossed that you're able to work out a wedding plan that makes you happy! Smiley heart
